Ok, rate the Dega race on a scale of 1 to 10.
I give it a 10.

best RP race i'd seen in awhile. Got boring and single file most of the time, but it was pretty exciting.

Only saw the first 40 & the last 22 laps. I'd give it a 5 out of 10 based on what I saw. Can't believe Junior had another motor problem, it's got to be a conspiracy. Wanted Stewart to win the race but had predicted a Hendrick freight-train just like what happened out there today. Roger thought he was finaly gonna be able to get his first plate victory, instead Rick got that win back that Roush robbed him of back at the Pepsi 400. I think Johnson knew he was a sitting duck. Gordon won because of teammates, Stewart didn't because of the same reason, nobody helped him & Hamlin couldn't get to him. Sad to see Mikey's great run spoiled right there at the end.

7- I fell asleep for a little while... boring. There was some good racing toward the end.

The end of the race was a solid 10. But most of the race was a 3. 3 for the 3 packs of cars running single file. JV gets a 10 for a solid run his 1st time out. JPM also a 10 for his 2nd time out.

I especially thought that JPM drove a good race. He is better than I thought. :)

I will give the last 50 laps a 10. The first 138 laps will be about a 5.

Mug isn't Jeff always brilliant.

I hate Jeff Gordon.

The winner: 0
Coverage: 2
Race: 6 (I thught it was boring for an RP race).

The last 30 laps, I'd give a 10, esp. the last ONE!!! WOOOO HOOOOOOOO!!! The rest of the race was maybe a 5. Pretty boring when they all just raced in line. The end made up for the rest of it!!!!
:bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

Give it a six. Any entertainment that hods enjoyment for the first twenty minutes and the last ten out of three and one-half hours (+/- ) doesn't deserve better.

Actually, JGordon won because of Tony Stewart.
Jeff Gordon won because he saw an opportunity and grabbed it.
Kudos to Stewart for running in front all day. Stewart had a good car but Tony made bad choices when it counted most.

JGordon's charge to the front was mostly without team mate help.
Once JGordon got to the front, he stayed behind Johnson and if anything was helping Johnson more than himself. JGordon waited for an opportunity. JGordon pulled to the out side of Johnson without help, a move that could have gone either way, moved up to avoid a block by Jimmie, saw the opening in front of Stewart and grabbed the position.
A smart move that put JGordon in the lead for the win.

Jeff Gordon won another restrictor plate race fair and square by smart driving making Jeff Gordon a "Restrictor Plate King".

JGordon pulled to the out side of Johnson without help

I thought they said Blaney gave him a shot which propelled him forward where he had to decide to bump Jimmie or move over and go for the pass.
Either way he ran a very smart race at the end.
Poor Tony, maybe all those guys he's chastised and tried to teach how they should drive saw an opportunity for pay back.

I rate the race a -10. I went from sheer elation watching the 43 up front all day, to deep dark sadness and anger as it went spinning and crashing away.

Well

Jeffy won the race...that makes it an automatic 10+.. As for the "follow the leader" middle portion of the race..SO? What is to be expected when all the cars are equal and where the car is doesn't count till the END of the race?
It's all about the car and driver LASTING the 4, 5 or even 600 miles.THEN the race starts with 20 or so of those laps left..
Perhaps restrictor plate races would be better if they were run in 3 or 4 short races and the winner being the car that finished with the highest average?

So maybe the races are too long as has been suggested. If yesterday had been 100 laps less what do we miss? Just saying...

Hopefully the next plate race will be more fun to watch now that they know what the COT can and can't do draft wise.
