Rate The Lowes Race

what are ya'll thinking rating an ESPN race a 10?

I'll give it a 7. Racing was decent for once, and they finally pulled their heads out of their hiding places and fixed up some of the broadcast, but they SERIOUSLY need to reconsider these start times. Around 75 or so to go i started dozing off. Ending a race at midnight local time just isnt right nor safe. I know its hard as heck to drive at midnight in a street car let alone in the middle of a 180 MPH traffic jam.

okay who asked last week... are we rating on the actual race or based on who wins? :D

I'd say... 8

I give it a 10! Even though I love who won, it was never a sure thing throughout the race, all the way to the end.

ESPN coverage... yuck. Rusty is so biased it's ridiculous.

DeeDee, some people rate the race depending on who is broadcasting it, and some go the whole mile, as in Andy. I guess you would probably rate the race totally different if you were there in person, or watching it from a different perspective. From a stadpoint of excitement, I give the race a nice 8.

Well how do you rate it when the fat slob sitting next to you is crushing you and making you uncomfortable? Thank goodness for the individual seats or I would have been engulfed and y'all wouldn't have me to share my sage knowledge. I've got to talk to the ticket people about moving my seats.
As to the race, it was easily a 10. I don't know what the TV showed but there were tons of battles all around the track.

Andy, your ratings arte fine but ........what "OVERALL" rating do you give the race.

Rating the actual race in its entirety, a 9.

As to individual reporters etc., I've said it before but here goes once again due to the flagrantly biased commentary by Msrs. Punch, Wallace and Petree.
Dale Earnhardt, Jr. is NOT Dale Ernhardt, Sr., and trying to compare the two is Italian salad dressing.

Dale Earnhardt died in 2001. No need to guess what he might or might not have done in any given situation.
Doubtful anyone really gives a rats patootie what any retired or departed driver might have done under similar circumstances as that speculative discussion by the trinity.

Taking the trivial commentary into consideration once the trinity felt Jeff Gordon might possibly win, the attitude changed from what seemed as indifference to major sucking up and numerous accolades.

A repeat of the same complaint re: good hands of the race award to, you guessed it, Tony Stewart. Looked to me like Kurt Busch or Jimmie Johnson were more deserving of the award than Stewart. But, Stewart fos get a bit of biased reporting from the trinity also.

I base my rating solely on the racing --- don't want to even get into the broadcasting.

I'll give a 9.

Really enjoyed the multiple groove racing. A far cry from the levigating disaster.

Overall rating for the race is a 6 (because Harvick, Montoya, Tony, Junyer and Andretti all had problems).

Really sucks what happened to Ryan. He can't seem to buy a break.

When it's your year, it's your year.

Nice comeback for Jimmie, I'll tell you what, I NEVER counted him out after that spinout. He's wrecked and pulled wins out of his ass before.

Oh, PSSSTTTT... ESPN on ABC still sucks. Did anyone hear Jerry Punch say "John Andretti, coming off that impressive Talladega run (he finished 43rd)." :XXROFL:

Worse yet, did anyone hear them say Richard Petty in one of the cars.:D

You sure got that right TRL. Way to go !!!!
There was multiple groove racing all night and some darn good heads up driving too.
Really liked the way Dale ran the top. It was reminiescent of Richard Petty and Harry Gant, especially at Rockingham.

I thought the race was very enjoyable, not because of who won or lost, but because of the good side by side racing and lots of passing. Seemed like everyone was going full bore right from the start and it never seeemed to let up.
All in all, a fun night. Wish there were more like it.
But wait !! This next race is Martinsville !!!!
It should be at least as good and possibly even better. Nothin' like good ole short track racing. :)

I have a feeling one of our chasers, Jeff Gordon, has something coming to him. ;)

TKJ, I was reffering to that love tap Gordon gave Junyer. I wouldn't be happy with him (and Junyer wasn't) because Gordon sure as hell could've lifted there.

He must have the same problem Stewart has: No brakes, only 100% throttle.

"Dale Jr. was running that high line, and he had so much momentum," Gordon said.
"I went down into Turn 3 trying to get all the momentum I could out of it,
and he came down off the top right in front of me."
Gordon said he went back to the gas on his marks, but Earnhardt wasn't there yet.
"He was still on the brakes," Gordon guessed. "I hit him and went, "whoops!"
I was able to get by him. It wasn't anything I was doing to get past him."
