Rate the Martinsville race

6
It was slow for awhile with some good racing but better than the NFL game on the other channel, what can I say :idunno:

I will give it a 7....tops. As previously stated, way too many cautions especially at the end.

There was prolly

racing all around the track...but ESPN decidided not to show the real racing...instead we saw hour after hour of the wrong views..
Maybe a 6 because of the broadcasting..
Betsy:rolleyes:

I say a 2 for two reasons.

1. All they showed were the top five cars. Pathetic coverage.

2. A race should never end under yellow. That drives me nuts about NASCAR. Thats just gay.

i missed the last 15 minutes or so...plus a lot in the middle..from what i did see, I'll call it a 5. Every time i looked Brett Bodine was in the lead.

Overall race: 7 (too many cautions)

MRN Coverage: 10

ESPN Coverage: 1

Those were race ratings Muggles. It was a far more exciring race on MRN than ESPN. Oh and I just finished up my rant in the TV coverage thread.

I guess I'm not going to rate the race any more because of the various way one can rate a race. I know that the race is much more exciting listening to it on the radio, but there are those who can't listen to MRN or PRN and only have the TV to experience the race. My God, what a difference the years can make. There was a time when one could only experience the race was on the radio, and that meant MRN. PRN wasn't even around then, but now, we have two radio networks and who knows how many TV networks. But wait! There's more. I also experience the race on the internet via Pit Command and as such, I only can see little bubbles going around the track as well as watching the race action on TV and listening to the action on the radio. Because the live action on TV mainly focuses on the leaders, and the fact that I am more interested in drivers that AREN'T up front, I mainly watch those little bubbles and though I can't actually see those in the back race, I can see how close they are to the guy in front of him and if he makes the pass or gets passed. That to me means more than who is leading and leading and leading. I'll watch the TV if there is a good competition for a change of position, but otherwise, I'm watching those little bubbles.

Lordy, when did watching little bubbles become more exciting than watching NASCAR racing on TV? When they offered Pit Command.

be9ak7ts16 - - At my age I've earned the right to be confused.:)

buckaroo - - - As poor as the TV coverage currently is I still prefer it to watching bubbles, but to each their preference.:)

Well I watch the TV but mute the sound and listen to the radio. Sure it can be confusing at times. But you do hear so much more of the race. It also seems like the MRN/PRN guys have an eye on the TV as they will talk about what the TV is showing, at times.
And, just in case you didn't know there's a lot of action that happens while the TV is out to commercial.
Also, with Sirius I can tune to a particular driver's radio which breaks in over the MRN/PRN broadcast. All I need to do is throw a tire on the grill and its close...
