Ok, I will give it a 9. Great race and good to see McMurray win.

I'll give it a 1.5 :bleh:

I hate plate racing with a passion. Manufactured competition where luck is much more important than driving skill or even car set-up at times is not my idea of racing. But that is just me. <_<

9

I give it a 9 Congrats Jamie It was worth burning a sick day for this race :beerbang:

are u guys rating the finish or the race? The finish a 10 but the race a 8

I'll have to say 10 as well. At least it wasn't the normal plate race you usually see. And with Stewart and Hamlin taking each other out and in the process getting Lil'E caught up farther back what could have made it better.
Oh yeah, an HMS 1-2-3-4 finish. But, at least 3 of them finished in the Top 10.

I think it was a 9.5. I think a 10 has to be one of the greatest races ever- and this wasn't quite there. But a mili-second differential at the stripe, and the general drama that was the last 40 laps was pretty awesome.

And congrats to Jamie. He had a great car and did a heck of job on the last lap. (And holy cow that kid in the 5 can drive!)

I'll give it a 1.2 & thats only because Kyle Busch was second. Other than that the race sucked. Jr had problems before we even got to lap 50, Truex had had no-one to help him. Menards car ran like he was draggin a concrete block behind it. The Hendrick guys had all their cars up there with 10 to go & they blew it. Bowyer had a fast car all day & didn't get a top 5, they (the chevys) messed around & let Roush claim his first plate win since 2003 with the Biff. If I was in charge of racing operations for Chevrolet I would be in all of their hides...

I rate it in the range of 9.5-10. And I do believe Kyle Busch just signed a contract tonight by driving that car well beyond it's known capabilities. I think he forgot he was on pavement...i have no clue how it stayed under him.

easily a 9...one of the best and most fun races to watch all year. :beerbang:

I say an 8.

It's a testament to how good those top 8/10 driver can actually handle a race car to able to drive those closing laps like that and not crash.

I also think Johnson and Kenseth showed more than enough patience with Kyle Busch throughout the race.

McMurray owes Edwards a beer :beerbang:

I would also like to add that I thought the network coverage and commentating were A1.

I guess they couldn't get to McMurray for an interview by the look of the goings on after the race.

Loved the race and will join in with the majority and give it a 9. To the two of you who rated this race lower than a 2, a little advice. So that you won't be tortured, the next time they race at Taladega and Daytona, go play golf. For the life of me, I don't understand why you even pay attention to this sport when you hate it so much. You want to change it, go lobby NASCAR. The rest of us already know how you feel about it.

Plate racing is where it's at! :bounce:

The coverage was fantastic. It was so great to watch RACING instead of commercials.

Weber still has to go. His numerous foul-ups and sappy melodrama are really starting to get to me. Did you catch it when Wendy gave a report on Carl Edwards, talking about the car and things "Carl" said ... and when she passed it back to Weber he says "okay, and what about the 99?" and she was like "uh...I just told you all about the 99."

Thats what racing is all about...YOU NEVER KNOW whats going to happen.

Chevy

Don't think anyone gave anything to anybody. That's why it was a good race. I give it a 9. Guess I can see why RPK is not in charge of racing operations at Chevy.Would have loved to see Edwards or Boyer win. Just glad that it was a safe clean race.

Yeah, that was funny :)

I also like the fact that Petty doesn't try to be a rock star but rather tells as he sees it and in a dialect I can understand.

Yes! I think Kyle Petty's broadcast skills have been one of the real high points over the past month or so. I really enjoy Kyle in the booth. He's fair, he knows what he's talking about and he's colorful. I like how he doesn't always try to play the role of the "expert driver" like Wally does. Kyle's commentary also comes from the angle of him just being a really big race fan. I like that a lot.

I'll give it a 9, great finish that is for sure and i liked the TNT coverage. Funny how Fox won't attempt to do that with the PIP commercial stuff. The racing was interesting to say the least and how Kyle B. did not wreck after getting sideways is beyond me!

I don't hate it I was just venting cause a Chevrolet didn't win the race.

Was it just me or did you find your eyes being pulled to the commercial inset? Making it harder to follow the racing action. I may have actually paid more attention to those commercials since I generally Tivo the race and then FF thru all the commercials. With these you're forced to watch. Those sneaky bastages.

bp, I was going to say something to that effect, but didn't. I too thought they did a masterful job with their coverage. It was different than the other type of dual coverage that we've witnessed before, and the race had the bigger picture, but it was the sound that prompted you to look at the commercials. I think that someone has learned something from this and there probably will be more experimentation with it soon. But one thing we'll never see, unless we pay dearly for it, is commercial free races. Someone's got to pay for it.
