RATE THE RACE: Brickyard 400

Typical Indy Cup race. I'll give it a 6 - only one more point past average because we got to see a first time Cup winner at the Brickyard.

Upset coz the 18 didn't win?

Upset at the farce of a sham of a mockery this race was. The least talented driver in all three ranks of NASCAR (excluding Jennifer Jo Cobb) just won The Brickyard 400.

They'll be lucky if 10,000 show up for the Nationwide race and 60,000 show up for the Cup race next year.

Maybe you, Spike and Tony 1930 should gather for a group hug.

He just won the Brickyard :) what did you do?

Give me eight years in top-tier equipment and I bet you I could luck in to a win or two as well.

I usely agree with you on some stuff around here but I'm telling you this wasn't luck at all. He's 14 in points better then a lot of full time drivers. Yet he's the worst?

Hes 14th now. He was 19th 2 hours ago and had been trending downward for weeks.

I will never understand why any of you who complain every week about something continue to watch the races. Don't you have something else to do on race day?

I'll give it a 6.5, pretty decent at times, but pretty typical for Indy outside of the fact there was a first time winner. I will admit I am a very big critic when it comse to Nascar, I just call them as see them, at least this one was more interesting than most Indy races.

Overglorified Pocono race- 4
Give drivers 5 million dollars for winning Pocono and you would see a much better race at a equally boring racetrack.

Menard first cup win at track that really means something to him and his family-10

Andy's usual stupid azz neagative race analysis-0 just like and himself, a ZERO!!!

The new car has ruined everything but short tracks, until it goes back to something similar to the car before 2007 we shouldn't expect anything different.

The Car of Tomorrow, sometimes called CoT or "Car of Today",[1] is the car style for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. Larger and boxier than the design it replaced, the Car of Tomorrow is safer, costs less to maintain, and was intended to make for closer competition

Hey NASCAR, 1 out of 3 = bad racing.

I'm sticking with my way of not giving a number value, but it really wasn't a bad race. The different fuel strategy put a bunch of different guys up front, and the way it worked out ith Gordon blasting through the field, and Menard milking it until he had to go (and then going hard) made for a better than normal fuel mileage race than normal (at least in my opinion)

If we would get some rain here in Texas I would have been out cutting the grass.

For the first time in weeks, I didn't fall asleep during the race.
Can't wait for Martinsville. :)

Give it a 7.5. Not the typical Indy race making it much more interesting.

I don't consider which driver or team owner wins when rating a race but judge it based on action, strategy and NASCAR performance. However, congratulations to Paul Menard. Good strategy and good driving put him in a position to win. Menard is deserving of any and all accolades for the win and has proven this year he is worthy of competing in the series.

Can we count on you showing up to whine?

It was a fairly entertaining race for a number of reasons. I give it a 6.

I think some of us were watching different races. I give the race a solid 7. I can't see what was so bad about it. Yes, there were some boring spots in there but what race doesn't have those? I thought the ending was pretty great. Being a 24 fan was really exciting with the tear through the field. It really put a different spin on fueld mileage racing.

On a side note, anyone else noticed that Alan Gustafon is really becoming a heck of a crew chief? He and the 24 team are pumping out some rocket ships the last few weeks.

7 for me too....Awsome win for menard.

Some people hate NASCAR and their lives so much they they can't say anything positive about anyone, YET they continue week after week.

I hate fuel mileage races as well.

I'd give the race a 2 or 3. It was rather boring until the final bunch of laps.

I'd give a 0 to ESPN for them telling us at least 40 times about how "big" of a race this is.
