To me, it was a :lurk: until the last few laps. I mean, all 43 still racing until poor Tony blew an enging? I'm not talking about wrecks here, please understand this.

I'll give it a 2 :lurk:

Another flat cookie for the fords.................

i went to the last race at the rock....it deft was not a zzzzzzzzzzzzz

by the way...i saw a lot of empty seats yesterday.

A lot of the "empty" seats were from folks going for a refill, or to relieve the "pressure". LOL Lots of the folks sit under the stands out of the direct sun where they can be cool, eat, and drink and still see the race. I've done that too.

Watching ANY race on the telly is NOT the same as being there. The drivers love Fontana, and so do the fans that go there. You only get to see on telly that which FOX deems it prudent to show you. LOL Annnnnnnnnnnnnd, you get to listen to them prattle on and on and on about the "joint", and what they had to eat. Give me MRN. I listen to the race on the scanners tuned to MRN even when we go.

Well after reading what everyone else said I don't feel so bad anymore. I fell asleep somewhere around lap 50. I didn't wake up until after the post race interviews.

well even the national media is picking up on how this feb and last feb cali has had a lot of empty seats...the racing that went on there sunday will not help fill those seats up anymore either.

I disagree with you dragonlady, I just think that although there are some race fans in California that there is not enough to sell out the track for two races in a single season.

Estimated attendence was about 60K

Infield about another 10K

This event does not sell out. Last year they were giving away tickets on race day in order to fill the stands so it wouldn't be an embarassment on TV.

I see Fontana going to one date in the future once they build a track in the Pacific Northwest.

The night race ( in Sept.) is a much better race to go to. I get there at about 11 am. see all of the festivities, visit with my friends and family, eat, etc.
I like the race better in the cool of the afternoon. I go every year, sometimes to both events. The weather in Feb. is sometimes hot. I prefer the night race.
This Sept. I got 11 seats in a row :)
A bad day at the racetrack beats good day fishing.
