Since nobody has started one yet I have to be first to say it was a great race!

I give it a 9

I'll give it a 7. I look for good finishes, and while this race had some good racing from time to time, it didn't have an exciting finish.

This race was easily an 8! Lots of action going on all day.

I just hope NASCAR doesn't decide to throw extra BS cautions at Texas and Homestead because of today.

I don't know what the rate would be but I can say it' the 1st race in a long time that didn't put me to sleep. I guess I'll stick my neck out and say a 7.

8

Lot's of action. Even Allen Bestwick was wondering if a full moon was out - during daylight.

It will be a race remembered but it really wasn't much of a race. The only thing that made this a race to remember were the cautions along with the double file restarts. 14 cautions. 12 for wrecks. I think there were somewhere around 16 cars involved in wrecks yesterday. I kinda wonder..... Had all 14 cautions been for debris would everyone still be rating the race so high? I'm guessing not. We would have had the same restart fest throughout producing much of the same racing. Maybe Goodyear can mass produce the old 2008 Indy tire for all of the tracks so all of the races can be so good? ;)

I tend to agree with this. Don't get me wrong as I'm happy the #17 won, but both races this weekend were caution filled and both received high marks. Earlier this year when there was a noticeable lack of cautions, most of the racing was considered boring and the final few dozen laps of this one was about the same. I'm not suggesting that anyone's rating or opinion is wrong but, IMO, the cautions brought on by torn up cars is what kept this race from becoming a single line, fuel mileage snoozefest.

On the second to last fuel stop everyone was trying to make it on one more stop. Had it not been for the cautions , it would have played out as a dreaded fuel mileage race . Personally I like all of the races.

I like all the races I watch as well but in varying degrees. I can assure you that if I didn't I turn the TV off as I can't imagine forcing myself into something which I don't enjoy as I'm not a masochist. (go ahead Fender)

I don't consider hangovers to count as they're a result, not a cause ;)

This.

A very polarizing race it was. No fuel mileage = good, too many wrecks with ****** tires = bad.

I agree with the debris comparison. I'm not a big fan of caution laps, and there were about six yellow flags too many for my tastes. It was entertaining, but only good, not great racing. I'll give it a 7.5, even if my man Matt took home the big check.
