RATE THE RACE: Martinsville II

I'd give it a 7. At least there were 4 cars that we thought had a shot. And Montoya made it fun throughout.
 
The short track racing is done around these parts until next year. NASCAR is all I have until December 26th so I give it a 10. :beerbang:

Kyle came from the back to the front. How can you not LOVE that. ;)
 
At least JJ didn't win, that's got to count for something.

I reallythink having him win the championship again will hurt more than help the sport.
 
I'll also give it a 7.5. Pretty good race.

The Chase though is not very interesting as it is now run. I think Kyle and Spencer hit it on the nose in TRL's thread.

I feel the same way and I've heard it from a lot of other people, too.

I'll give it a 7.5 since I got distracted by family and didn't see the complete race.
 
I will give it a 10 because...
1) It's Martinsville, what's not to love.
2) It's a short track, NA_CAR doesn't have enough of them.
3) Someone besides Jimmy Johnson won.
4) Do not compare Martinsville to Bristol. Bruton ruined Bristol by adding progressive banking and making Bristol as dull as his other cookie cutters, except Charlotte the Mecca.
5) Jimmie Johnson did not win.

I was so waiting for some of those guys known for beating and wrecking might have knocked off a few of them up front. I would have even been happy with flat tire. LOL
 
At this point does it really matter that Jimmie didn't win? He finished 2nd and his closest competitors finished behind him so his points lead increased. Denny is so far back IMO even if he won the remaining races he wouldn't win the Championship. Jimmie should win his 4th championship, making history and setting a record that won't soon be broken.
When this happens in the stick and ball sports they call it a dynasty. We are seeing the Johnson Dynasty. :)

Double-file restarts made it interesting, but it wasn't the best M'ville race I've seen.
 
I will give the race a solid 9! I was there and it was an awsome race. It was our third time to Martinsville and my wife declared it was the best we have seen live yet. However, I hate that Hamlin won. I can not stand him! Most ppl say they wish Hamlin woulda knocked out Johnson, but I wish Johnson woulda made that punk eat wall! But that is just me.....
