I'm not one to give a higher rating to a race simply because a driver I root for has won. But - I'll make an exception this time.

I'll give it an 8. Good to see that #88 finally in victory lane. And, yes, VaDirt, I also noticed his companion down there in victory lane. How could you not? Seems to me Jr is also a winner outside of the track.

I remember a forum member here some time ago wishing on a bad crash for Kyle Busch simply because he didn't like him. I, along with the majority of you, felt that no one should ever want any driver to get seriously injured in a crash. And I stand by that today.
But I couldn't help the smile raining down my face after seeing that #51 get in the wall early on.
#karma.

I'll give it a 5, average race, pretty much typical of Cup races these days. It was nice to see Jr win!

4....not much action, no real racing...not much of anything really.

Well, I will give it an 8. am I prejudiced, guess so. WooHoo!!!!

Can't rate it.Tuned in 2 different times and both times they were at a commercial break then came back to the race under yellow to tell me they were going to commercial break AGAIN.So I watched something else.Sorry I did miss Jr's win though.

Weak.

Sounds like typical TNT.

If not for free tickets to the August race probably wouldn't bother attending. It's going to be years until that racing groove widens out.

I know everyone, including myself, likes to bitch about fox but at least they do the side by side towards the end of the race. Tnt needs to do the same.

The race was pretty good(7), but the coverage of the race totally sucked.

Says the guy who claims to be a race fans but throws a little hissy fit because of a couple of commercials under caution.:D
This coming from the guy who is going to the next one only because he's getting free tickets and my first post is "a hissy fit"?????

For one there wasn't any real bad crashes(clean race). I know some fans find that boring, but I enjoy a nice clean race.

There was good racing on the track. TNT race buddy made that possible.

The TNT producers of the actual program that was on my TV was the worst I have ever been through. There's two guys trying real hard to explain what's going on. There's a great shot of guys going three wide and somebody is about to make a move. Then the producer changes the feed to show us somebody completing his pass for the lead. Meanwhile the three wide got exciting and we had to miss it because the producer knows not a FRUCKIN thing about what cars do on a track. It's like they fell in off the boat out of mexico, and everybody is ready to do a soccer game.

TNT, YOU SUCK, GO **** YOURSELVES

I'd rate the race a 7.5 - easy.

There was so much turmoil and the factor of "the unknown" played a huge role in the race. I love seeing drivers diving off into Turn One at over 200 MPH and having to lift off the throttle! While it might not be "exciting" to the TV audience, it is sure as hell exciting for the drivers!

As fior the TV coverage, TNT gets an extra point or two -CAUSE IT AIN'T FOX!
TV Coverage: 7.5

I like that Robbie . The tire issue /rain / repaving made an exciting race . I can't imagine anyone who knew what the drivers and teams were facing ,not being on the edge of their seat for the entire race . I certainly didn't know if Junior was going to blow a tire ,usually the fastest car is putting the most stress on their equipment . Even the troubles encountered by the Gibbs cars was interesting . I guess for some fans , it's only about the photo finish and not about the racing.

Err, you just said it was about tires blowing up, not racing.

I would say tire management is part of racing , so is fuel management . I wasn't waiting for a tire to blow or an engine to expire but those things played a part in that race for other teams .

Sorry Ted, but you're double talking. People were saying that the racing wasn't all that good, and you brought up tires and wrecks and blown engines (Gibbs cars). That's drama, and I enjoy it. But RACING is what others were talking about, and the lack of a second and 3rd groove to allow more side by side action. I'm astounded that you failed to understand what was being said, and decided that no photo finish was the real complaint.

I don't say this often, not even with cookie cutters, but I was a little bored during part of the race with the racing that went on (although I was very excited when Jeff was up front). I also have to say I'm disappointed about the wide groove that I used to love about Michigan being gone.

It would probably be lower, but since Jeff was up front for a few laps, and almost everyone is happy about the winner, I'll give the race a 6.

Oops, I almost forgot to add, this is my 100th post!
