Having to watch the first 100 laps on SPEED - 0

FOX has FX and FOX Sports Net that they air baseball on every single night. NASCAR is the highest rated summertime sport and it constantly gets higher ratings than boring baseball.

I know some avid baseball fans that would seriously disagree with your assesment of the sport.

The type of crap we race fans get, I have no problem throwing out my opinion of boring stick and ball sports. :)

"All they do is turn left"

"Boring left-turn races"

"NASCAR sucks"

"NASCAR's not a sport, anyone can drive a car" (anyone can swing a wodden bat at a ball as well:rolleyes:)

Once again, today proved the only sport that's as exciting as racing is playoff hockey!

I say 8. The middle section of the race was rather boring. But those last 125 laps made up for a lot of that.

Andy, it was back on our FOX affiliate just as they got done with the Anthem. We heard the call to fire engines. Yours was probably back by then, too. I didn't catch it was on SPEED so I just missed prerace which up until they do the ceremonies, it doesn't matter if I missed it or not.

I give the race a 9. It was pretty exciting, but I would have loved to see Tony win instead of my least favorite. :(

I stayed on SPEED until the race went over to FOX - it was some 70 laps in.

it was only on speed well into the race here also. didn't notice who was playing baseball.

I'll give it a strong 8. most of the race was pretty exciting.

I give it an 8.5-9. This is what racing is all about. Nose to tail action all over the track. None of this restrictor plate B.S. interfering with anything. Just good hard racing. Nascar did not even stick their noses into it last night. Last night's race proves that you do not have to go 180+ MPH to have a good race. You just have to run restritor free. I think Richmond is the new Bristol.

I slept thruogh most of it. It was back on FOX before the race started here too. That much I stayed awake for.

I fell asleep before the end, was watching the Red Sox and Celtics' games mostly, but what I did see of the race looked pretty good. I'll give it a 7.5.

I see what your saying Andy but I'll bet you $100 you can't hit a 95 mph fastball and if you did it would not be past the infield, in bounds. Plus you couldn't come close to even touching a Major League curve ball. So when I hear the remarks like you stated in the previous post, just ignore them. It's a loosing argument with someone who has never tried watching a race.

I thought it was a good race. I'm never excited about a Kyle Busch win but it was still a good race.

This is the first time in the last five years that we didn't go to Richmond for a race. When they added the new seats high going into turn one, we upgraded. The only catch was that we had to buy the IRL weekend too. I figured, no problem, we'll just sell those weekends @ cost. Wrong! I could never find anyone interested in the IRL weekend. I ended up giving up the seats. :(

Yeah I know I couldn't hit a 95 mph fastball.

You get what I'm saying though. All the people who foam at their mouths to bash NASCAR couldn't last 20 minutes in a limited-horsepower late model. :)

As far as baseball, I fall asleep everytime I go to an Orioles game. Give me a night of mudslinging, dirt in the face short track racing instead! :beerbang:

Yea, I agree. I'll be honest, I used to be the same way about nascar until I actually sat a watched a race a few years ago and I was hooked within 5 laps.

To be fair though, I have always been an F1 and Indy fan so it was a matter of time before I watched a nascar race.

I've been hooked since I was 3. Parents took me to a late model race at Charlotte County Speedway down in what was Punta Gorda (before Hurricane Charley flattened it). I've been hooked ever since. :beerbang:
