First, keep in mind that on my scale, that's one point above average.
Good side by side racing early on. It's Saturday night NASCAR racing. Good battles among the top three drivers all night.

But, hated to see my drivers get themselves out of contention. Too many cautions, imo, for debris and drivers simply scraping the wall. The field would get strung out pretty quickly after those cautions, too.

That said, I'd rate this race a 10 if I was there.
A totally different experience.

Lastly - hey FOX Sports?!
Looks like you're pretty good with promoting the UFC with the Kevin Harvick/Johnny Hendricks sparring session in the pre-race show and the many commercials promoting next week's big fight card on your network. Kudos. As a big mma fan, I enjoyed that.
But then you give us Jeff Hammond in a BOXING RING on the track to hype up any potential fight between drivers after the race.

C'mon, man.

I enjoyed the racing and really the ebb n flow. I loved Gordon on the long runs but they should really rethink their 1.5 miler set-up strategy. NASCAR loves yellows. They know that.

Anyways the race treated me like crap after about 430 miles. My attempt at an unbiased opinion would be a 7.. I feel like I've seen better texas races but I had a great time watching. Fox sports failed me again with their kool aid serving selves but I should expect no less.

I'd give it a 8. Instant classic to me.

You had all the political drama of the NRA stuff, which we've talked to death.
The Penske cars failing inspection. Logano barely making it to the track in time.
Stewart's woes continue.
An early retirement for Gordon despite a good run.
Truex trying to hold off Kyle at the end, fantastic pit stop by the #18 puts them ahead.
Logano coming back from the back of the field to finish #5.
Post-race, a very frustrated Keselowski slamming NASCAR and Truex, Jr. hinting that the last caution may have been a "phantom debris" caution.

Some great action going on. A great race to be on Twitter/Facebook/text messages with all the stuff happening.

6 the beginning of the race was fantastic but then the excitement kinda trailed off as it went on for me. Also really disappointed that Truex couldn't hold on for the win.

There was some really good racing --- the new car has made a difference.
I'll go a 7.5 ---- no matter which driver was leading, they ran off and hid. That made the race a bit tiresome.

I've seen much better races at Texas in the past.

I am still not convinced areo push is still not a problem no matter what DW and the other nascar shills say.

Just the difference in speed after the Paperclip was awesome. Really enjoyed the race and Kyle Bush did a heck of a job. Had to feel bad for Gordon, it was setting up to be a great finish.

i'll give it a 6.5...there was some ok racing going on but the field got strung out fast after the restarts. Plus tony just can't get anything going..finished 21st:(...

I'd give a rating of 9 for this race. Maybe even 9.25.

Pee Wee wins and my buddy D'hayve won $500 in the infield Race Pool! Plus, another of our group won $500 in another Race Pool and yet another got $200 for Truex's second place finish!

Needless to say, our group was NOT real popular with the pool originators!! lol

But it was a clean race with a lot of action. I loved it!!

Fire them guns, Kyle!!!

That insanely cheap last caution got my driver back on the lead lap, but that doesn't make it right. nascar needs to throw the cheap cautions early and then let the end of the race play out naturally.

6.5 I'm a short track, road race fan, so until something changes(not) I deal with it.. So far with the exception of Logano/Hamlin action on a large track, the large tracks despite all the hype, still have fathom cautions, and single file riding around. No car they attempt to design is going to fix the problem, they have made it better with the car and tires, but true door handle to door handle racing is only going to happen on short tracks and road courses where Aero is not the deciding factor.

88 - 56 - 24 race was ok,my picks did well,if Truex hada won n JG 2nd,I'd given a 8.8

lol,I picked BK,first time this year,boy,I was sad,at first,at end....:partytime.

Id say a solid 6. The racing was pretty good, but nothing real incredible except the late race truex/busch battle

I give it a 6. I'm not a big fan of the mile-and-a-half cookie cutters to begin with, and there wasn't anything particularly memorable about the actual race itself. After three really good races, this one was a bit of a letdown.

I believe that aero always has been and always will be a problem . If you don't believe that , just hold your hand out the window at 65 mph . As teams have learned more about it , aero has become more of a topic of conversation , but no way is it going away , ever.

Take out the rear windows, oh wait I'm not FB.

Great action throughout the field. The teams are starting to get a good handle on this new car.

Also I love races where the tires drop off like that.

After the last two races, this one has to be a 6. Pretty good early on, tailed off from the midpoint on.

5. It was basically a steriotypical 1.5 miler with a bit of extra drama thrown in.
