RATE THE RACE: Talladega II

I know there are many people who hate plate races, but they are my favorite because of the unknown. Tight racing and I mean tight, makes for an exciting race. I'll give this race a solid 9.

80+ lead changes and multiple race leaders. Just a few laps of single file racing....

An easy 10 from me.

I love the plate races, and don't like to miss them. Unfortunatly I missed todays action on T.V., but got to listen to the final 26 on MRN. Those guys get very excited on the radio. One turn worker screaming "3, no 4, no no 5 wide coming out of turn 4."

I give the final 26 laps a solid 8.

I give MRN A 10!!!

Have to give it a 9.5, take off 1/2-point for a stretch of riding around and waiting 5 minutes to find out who won.

I only caught the last 7 laps. The green white checker was great racing. I was hoping there wouldn't be a caution. Anyways I give those laps a 9.

As many of you know I detest plate racing, but I'll have to admit yesterdays' race was pretty damn good. I'll give it a 9!

An 8 for me. A good race but I sure would have liked to see that race run to the checkered flag. Boo to the drivers intentionally running in the rear. I don't care that they were trying to protect themselves, I've got more respect for the teams out there mixing it up and running hard to get up front.

I think the boys in the booth were disappointed the big one didn't happen. You could hear it in their voices as the laps ran down.

I'm happy there wasn't a big one and give it a solid 9.

I thought it was pretty cool how 2 cars could pass 20 in like 30 seconds, made it pretty interesting. Teamates hooking up and going from 26th to first in one lap, neat stuff.

It's called strategy, look it up, the drivers that went to the back...Johnson, Gordon...didn't do too bad.

Don't forget Hamlin. He did good as well. My point is that if I were a fan of one of those drivers, I'd be disappointed that is how they chose to race. That's JMO. Others will disagree. I have to give Harvick credit. He raced had all race long. Fortunately, not all of the drivers raced like Johnson, Gordon & Hamlin or we'd all be sitting here today complaining how boring the race was.

I agree, that was very cool. If the package stays the same for a few plate races to come, it'll be interesting if they get this move perfected. I'd like to see a few of those two car drafts running for the win on lap #188.

What I thought was interesting too, was how two cars that hooked up and pulled away could also work together, almost seemlessly, to swap positions to keep from overheating.

I bet the Dinger would disagree with the no big one assessment.

That 2 car thing is going to be awesome at Daytona with that new pave job.
