Rate the 2012 Tums 500 on a scale of 1-10.

I give it a nine, it had everything you could ask for, but admittedly lacked a bit of excitement before the last 50 laps.

8.5

Too bad Hamlin crapped out. Even with messing up twice, he still had a chance to beat JJ and keep the win bonus away from 5 time.

I missed all but a few laps, missed the end. Got home and found out JJ won, so my score is 0000000.00

9 because Martinsville is awesome. Too bad that caution came out for Harvick. I was wanting to see the 24 and 48 fight it out.

8.5 Martinsville could be the most fun races on the circuit right now...

9.5 I don't know how well TV covered it, but watching Denny make his way through the field twice after speeding penalties was as entertaining as this sport can get. I also don't know how well that long green flag run in the middle came across on TV, but I could always find some good racing somewhere on the track. Montoya had several good battles trying to stay on the lead lap or to remain 'Lucky Dog'. Fuel mileage didn't factor in.

Racing @ Martinsville was great as always. Like what was mentioned earlier, we were robbed of a great Jeff Gordon/Jimmie Johnson finish. I'm not a fan of either but I was looking forward to that finish as the race progressed.

There were quite a few good cars out there that were capable of winning that race and lots of action throughout the field. Hamlin's pit road mistakes made for interesting viewing watching him come back up through the field. I'm not sure whether television showed the Johnson/Vickers battles during the race but those were a couple of my favorite parts. Knowing that those two are best buddies off the track made it all that more interesting. Double J was pissed.

Good stuff all day long. Do yourself a favor, buy a ticket.

Boy, I'd forgotten about those two. They went at it like J2 and Jeff did a couple of years ago, but for much longer and more often.
