Rate the race: Vegas

Race: 3 (and that's being generous)
Jimmie winning again: -10

Sidney Crosby with the game winner: -999999999 I hate that guy even more now.

Ain't that the truth? I'm a Caps fan so I already loathe and detest Crosby.

Crosby to the NHL is like JJ in nascar. I am sick and tired of seeing that guy all over the place. I would have been ok with Canada winning if anyone other than Crosby on the team scored that final goal. I feel the same way about todays race, anyone other than Johnson would have been great.

The race- a generous 5

The battle between JJ and JG - 8

Steve Letarte- 0

watched the hockey game which was a great game other than canada winning. Flipped over to the race and saw JJ was in the lead with 5 to go turned it off and no more sprint cup for me. I'm switching over to trucks

DING! DING! DING!

Crosby isn't even the best player in the NHL. He's just with a great team and has a great teammate in Evgeni Malkin. Kind of like Jimmie, Chad and Hendrick.

LMAO right on!

I didn't see much of race, but from what I saw 3.
Hockey 10 even though US lost, bummer.

:fixed:

Like it or not, Johnson wins because he is a great driver, with a great crew chief and with a great team.

Jr. is more like Crosby, he's with a great team, a good crew chief, but he just can't pull it together to win races and championships.

Um, the Pittsburgh Penguins just won the Stanley Cup, and Canada just won the gold medal game. How does that make Sidney Crosby more like Jr?

Clearly you're someone who worships everything Jimmie does. But even you must know he wouldn't be **** without Chad and Hendrick. Look at his stellar Nationwide career before joining Hendrick.

Hmm ok, let's look at Jimmie's past racing before he came to Sprint Cup.

By the time he was eight, he won the 60cc class championship despite injuring his knee with several races left in the season.

SODA, SCORE and MTEG: 25 wins, 100 top-three finishes, six championships, and received Rookie of the Year honors in all three leagues.

ASA: Finishing fourth in the season while picking up Rookie of the Year honors.

Nationwide: 10th in the points standings and third in the Rookie of the Year standings.

Yea, clearly Johnson is a horrible driver.

Ummm, didn't you just say:

Talk about being a little off base and uninformed...

Ok I will admit I was talking out of my ass. :) But the Johnson hate does get old after awhile.

I never said Johnson is a "horrible driver" ... nice way of putting words in my mouth.

Clearly, you're just pissed off that not everyone worships Jimmie like you do. Jimmie Johnson would just be an average driver if he wasn't with Rick and Chad.

"Horrible driver" would be John Wrecks Townley or Tim George, Jr.

It's not so much Johnson hate, it's more like Johnson boredom. With other drivers that have dominated, most of them were well liked, or really hated. With Johnson, he comes across as too vanilla to like, and not bad enough to hate. He's down the middle of the road, so it's hard to get behind him or against him...

I do not worship Jimmie, I am a fan of Jimmie. What I am tired of is everyone claiming that the rules should be changed so that Jimmie doesn't win so often. When in reality, you shouldn't be blaming Jimmie for his successes on the track, you should be mad at the other race team for not doing whatever Jimmie's team does to win.

Which I actually find ironic because MOST race fans are Conservative and don't agree with medicare, social security, etc. Programs that are designed to help people, and yet they want to help the other team by restricting a successful driver and team.

Las Vegas is a paradox for me. This is the type of track Vickers usually thrives on, yet he just runs poorly there in Cup.

Meh, you can't be too colorful nowadays. NASCAR wasn't the Southern Sport it once was, it's now a National sport with alotta money tied up into it. Drivers are spokesperson for their sponsors, so of course they're going to be Vanilla. Because anything outrageous or whatever the old boys were like would upset sponsors and money would be lost.

I don't hate Johnson at all, far from it actually. I just wish these other teams would get their stuff together and get on the same level. Its starting to get old seeing JJ up front toward the end of a race and we all now what the outcome is going to be with 5 - 10 laps to go. Although it would be an awesome feet for Johnson to win 5 championships in a row, I don't think I can handle it.

Harvick is looking to real strong so far.

It is real simple with Johnson....he is as boring as Matt Kenseth, but wins. The guy has no emotion, win or lose. Although sometimes if bad luck hits him, he whines a little. There is no dispute his accomplishments are unbelievable. But he has no piss and vinegar. It does not help him being teammates w/ #24. But at the end of the day, he is as boring as watching paint dry.

I can't honestly rate a race that results in a Jimmie Johnson win. That team seems to be so far above and beyond the rest of the field it's ridiculous.

Seriously, I was too distracted by the Olympic Gold Medal Hockey Round to dedicate my full attention to the race. Knowing that the race results in yet another Johnson victory caused me to press the delete button on my DVR.

Not a very good race, but that's partly because of Gordon having dominating day. I would have loved to see him go to Victory Lane, but that was a terrible call on pit road with 30 to go.

Did anyone else think Carroll Shelby was going to have a heart attack standing between Kim Kardashian and a showgirl?

I had to work. But I did DVR the race and got home with 32 laps to go. From what I saw, it wasn't worth even watching what recorded. Meh. A Big meh.

I will have to give it a 7. It was exciting because of Jeff leading all day even if he didn't win because of a bad call on pit road. Still kept me glued to tv all day.

Was it just me, or did it look like Kardashian didn't even bother saying "gentlemen start your engines"? Mights been a reflection on my screen....or just my not looking past her...:growl:
