Veddy interrrresting !!!
Especially how people rate a race on where thier favorite driver finished.
This brings to mind the question, when giving the grade for the quality of racing, what does where your favorite driver finished have to do with how the race was rated???
Some days a driver is a hero and the next day, a zero, but what takes place in front and behind him is what makes the race good or bad.
And while I'm on the subject, what about the breaks where the wrecks are shown. Nothing but the wrecks. Only the wrecks. Get the message here???
One thing for sure, this week on each NASCAR show where they review the racing, will they show the great side by side racing between Busch and Newman ?? How about the side by side between Newman and Gordon ?? Or Earnhradt and Johnson ?? There was better racing at Phoenix than at 80% of the other races this year.
We are all expected to share our opinion, but to rate a race on where your favorite driver finishes when there were great battles going on all over the track, makes the logic behind that opinion, suspect.
Oh yea. Rate the race. I'll give it a nine (9). I thought Kurt Busch, Ryan Newman, and too many others to mention without covering the majority of the field, drove hard all day and showed what racing is all about.
Now that is just my opinion and it is based on what occurred during the race not where any one particular driver did or did not finish.
