Rate The Race

Typical road course action with lots of off-roading, lots of weird events, etc.

Any race where one driver dominates that much just isn't very fun to watch (unless you happen to be a fan of that driver.)

I'll give it a 6.

I'll give it an 8.
I thought there was enough action going on throughout the track to offset the domination at the front.

I'm going with a 5. Pretty typical road race for me. A few drivers (the predictable ones) run off with it from the beginning and no one can advance much. I watched the position bar scroll for over thirty laps.........no real positions changed during that time. With only one place on the track for any competition passing, it leaves a lot to be desired for excitement. I did sort of enjoy the pit strategy to get drivers ahead of others. But, when pit road and luck are the primary means of advancing a position it gets a little ho-hum for me. I guess the main reason I even watch the road course races is to see the "off road" excursions and spins.........just a comedy on the race track!! :D

But, remember, I'm probably the only one here who really doesn't care for road racing...........only one more to go this season!! Saving grace on that is.............Watkins Glen always seems to have a bit better race than Sonoma.

Hmmmmmmmmm, sorry you don't like the "roadies" DE, but
I have always loved them.
Especially when my fav wins. LOL

Rate the race over-all??? Prolly a 7+

Oh, I forgot!! That big foam block out of turn four (I think).........I always look for who clips it each year at Sonoma!! That's fun!! :D I don't know who clipped it, but it got it's annual chunk chipped off!!

More than once!

I gotta give props to my other Driver McMurray  I'll give it a 8 just for that

I give it about a 6.8, only because I'm not a Jeff Gordon fan. Other than that I think it was a good race, except for the whole Robby Gordon bad luck streak.

i give it a solid 7.

Plenty of may-hem to keep me coming back to the tube...

Plus an all time first for me....I actually felt sorry for Robby Gordon!

:D

I'll give it -_- -_- -_- -_- -_- .Not much of a Sonomafan, but I like the Glen. Only saving grace was that JG won and the foam block of course.

I'll give it a 9 :D

It was just like old times...a parade in Jeff Gordon's honor. It did my heart good. Jeff being my favorite obviously effects my judgement here.

But, I have always been a fan of road courses. I would much rather watch a good road course race than a plate "race" for example.

If I was not a Jeff Gordon fan I probably would have still rated it an 8. Road courses are interesting and definitely a welcome change of pace to me.

:partytime:

Glad you liked the Sonoma race, 4X..............next week, it's my turn to get all excited about the race!! :D Guess I feel about the same for road courses as you feel about plate tracks. Today's race was almost a snoozer for me, but you can bet your next week's pay that I won't miss a lap (well, the laps that are missed because of commercials don't count :) ) of the Pepsi 400 next Saturday evening!!!

It was nice to see a race finish under Green Flag conditions and no bottles being thrown.

It's a 10,pure domination by the #24 team, good to see Jaime McMurray finish 2nd there in only His 2nd race, that's quite an accomplishment,Jaime's the real deal. :D
How about Michael Waltrip outdoing His teammate with a 4th place finish and Jimmie Johnson's 5th place finish was also impressive at a road course.
Hated the problems that BObby Labonte and late in the arce that Rusty Wallace had after He ran so strong for most of the race. ;)

i give it a 8... love road courses, but they are too short

I only got to see the last 30 laps :( but what I did see deserve's a 10. :)

I give this one an 8. I like road courses, my guy won, and no stupid mistakes by nascar (which seems to be getting rarer these days).

I not much on roadies. But I will give it a 7 just because Harvick made a good comeback after his pit crew screwed up.

Brian got wrecked, then almost got beat up...Mayfield ran Schrader off the track and cost him a top 15 finish...Didn't see the first half of it because I was touring the Indianapolis Motor Speedway...I'll give it a 6. But only because Schrader and Brian got top 25s. That's almost like a win for Kenny.
