Rate The Race

I was there and even though Jr went backward almost every restart I still give it a 9!! Hey, I kept my avatar when Jeff blew up!! :D

Smack...........I'm working on your new ID!! :bounce:

The racing action - couldn't tell you. I boycotted it and didn't watch.

The results - well let me see. It appears my boy won, and Junior, Harvick and Jeff all looked like bozos. On a scale of 1 to 10, that'd be a 40.

The entire affair - to paraphrase Michael Waltrip, "They're at the wroooonnngggg traaaack!" Negative 500.

I am happy that Sadler won and it was good to see Martin have a great finish but I would rate it a 6 on the 1 to 10 scale.

Well considering Harvick had such a bad day. I will still give it a 7.

I'll give it a solid 9.5.

If you chose to boycott the race, that's sure your option. 2 days of many actual racing lead changes & 3 & 4 wide racing throughout the field all around the track is pretty darn good racing to me. JMHO

It was well worth braving the heat for 2 days to be there.

What race were you at?I didn't see any four wide racing.
lots of drama though and some great cars upfont racing for the win. With 10 to go you didn't know who was going to win. I give it a 9.

And I bet you sweated, and sweated!

I give it a solid 8.5

I'll give it a 7. Pretty good race... Had Kasey won.... a definite 9.. I love to see first timers win.

Even though there were stretches of snoozing, this was one of the better Fontana races. I did enjoy seeing the racing in the back, rather than the mindless follow-the-leader that occasionally went on at the front.

There was some 3 and, rarely, 4 wide racing.

Not bad for a flat track --- I give it a 7.

I'd give it a 6,still not a road course or short track race :D A new record for cautions didn't help the race IMHO Mark Martin might well have won if not for the late race cautions. ;)

I was also rooting for Kasey Kahne to pull off that first win,a 5 time bridesmaid, must be getting frustrating for the #9 team, but what a rut to be in.

I'll give it a 6. Not a bad race for such a big track, but compared to a short track it was still woefully boring.

Not a chance...........once Jeff Gordon blew up there was no one on the track that could race with Elliott. That 38 car was awesome all race long. He could drive it anywhere on the track he choose to.........high, low middle........it made no difference!!

And for the three wide.........there was a lot of it coming out of turn 4. I mean for the first 10 laps after every restart there was at least 8 times they were three wide. There also was quite a bit of 4 wide.......some day people will begin to give California it's due. It's getting to be one heck a track for side by side racing.......but, I guess you had to be there to see it.

I tend to disagree. Martin was really getting strong prior to the cautions and I think he would have caught and passed Elliott. He already passed Kahne but was put back in 3rd due to the caution. Martin was really fast on the long runs.

Hmmm, well lets see! Since I really didnt get to see much of it due to too many sever weather interruptions (sever weather that wasnt even in our area) I give it 5...and Junior wrecking....a 10+!

With the comments so far I wonder if this race following Bristol is one reason for it being down graded as much. It was a good race with some different faces up front.
I do have one question that TIVO couldn't answer for me. Near the end of the race Lil'E came in 9th to pit and went out 6th but lined up 2nd. I played the spot over to make sure I was counting correctly. But, in the end it didn't matter they weren't able to hand him this race as he quickly faded to the rear where he had run most of the day anyway.
I guess some things will remain a mystery to me... ^_^

And I was wondering if you followed Mikey to the wrong track again, cause everyone sitting around us seen it. Maybe you should get new seats, like over near turn 4 if you want to see great racing. :D

I give it a 9.5

good race...........good fans......talked to quite a few around us.......my boy blew..but...that happens sometimes........poor Jeff.....
but it was a good race..loved every minute of it and you had to be there.......it was great..PACKED HOUSE..........

sour grapes for the people that boycotted it........GET OVER IT....... :p

I must also rate that race a 9.5!!!! And My guy blew his engine. (Cutiepie and I were both saddened by that, but oh, well. Happens to the best of t hem.)
Really good race!!!!! And if ya didn't see the 3 and 4 wide racin,
man, ya need glasses real bad!!!!! The track was so hot on Sunday, the drivers were complaining about it being awful slickery!!! LOL
And for sure there was plenty of 4 wide coming outta turn 4.
Place was packed!!!!! And if you were watching on the telly,
you couldn't see the thousands that were UNDER the stands under the misters
provided for heat relief by Cali Speedway!!!!! Sides, that's where
they wewe selling all the beer, water, and sodas. LOL
Then you shoulda seen all them people across the track in the suites!!!!!
Man those things were packed too. Suites are above pit road.
And they run fron the 1st to the 43rd pit!!!
They had over 1800 rv's and motor homes in the infield. And those
were not the drivers, families nor anyone affiliated with the track!!!
If ya saw some empty seats in the stands, it wasn't because
they were not sold. Why don't YOU try sitting in the full, blazing desert sun for 4 or 5 hours????? Hmmmmmmmmm??????? Anyone care for fried
chicken?????
Boycott away, friends, but you harm nodody but yourself!!!!

With all the boycotting I just want to show some why Darlington does not have the Labor Day race anymore. Had Darlington been able to accomplish a crowd like this on a holiday were most folks are doing the lake, beach, mountain or family thing, then I would have been sitting at home watching instead in the stands attending!!

BTW, I took this picture during a caution.........ain't all that many people left the stands for a beer, did they? It was a crowd.......you better believe it!! I forsee more east coast tracks losing dates if they can't fill the stands like California did last Sunday. Like someone posted........."GET OVER IT". Or start putting butts in seats so you will never have to get over it.
