What was bad about this race?? It had plenty of passing and some good pit strategy. Some teams got screwed because of the strategy but that is racing. On the whole, with the action, passing and teams that turned around the pitting under green deal after going a lap down is part of the game. Watching them get thier lap back makes for a good race.
And what would the disgruntled fans have NASCAR do instead of calling the race when they did ?? They had experience from Friday to know how long it was going to take to dry the track and more rain showing on the radar.
If only they had waited a little longer..........................., it would have been between eleven and twelve o'clock before the race was restarted. That's taking an hour from Mike Helton's time frame. They still had an hour and a half of racing left with rain on the radar, and if only they had started right away to dry the track the race MIGHT have been completed between one-thirty and two-thirty in the morning. No guarantee as the rain was coming and it did arrive. Blame Mike Helton, NASCAR, Bill or Brian France, or all of the above, but Mother Nature cannot be controlled.
If they had started the race and been able to complete it, fans would not have gotten out of the track for another two hours as the parking lots were swamps.
It seems no matter what the decision is by NASCAR, they are never right, unless of course the decision favors a fans favorite driver.
