Rate The Season

I thought it was pretty damn good.

The whining and sour grapes around here are stinking it up, however. :)

An honest rating.........probably about 8 overall. But the potential with some needed tweaks..........a good chance of a solid 10 in a year or so!!! :D :beerbang:

Yeah, a solid 8 out of 10. I was not in favor of the Chase----but, it succeeded this year. I wonder if there will be changes in the selection criteria in the future? I can see possibilities there for that.

I'll give it a 7 as far as racing.

About a 4.5 for TV coverage. Today was nothing but a commercial fest with SHORT periods of racing. Most of the time we never knew how they came out of the pits and restarting order before the green came out. During the little shower deal it was over 20 min with no mention of how they relined up.

I'm getting quite disgusted with the coverage. I'm to the point of just watching the highlight shows (sometimes you see more) and going to what races I can. But as far as sitting through a 4-5 hour commercial fest it's just not holding my interest anymore.

Truck racing is a bit different, SPEED hasn't gotten quite so bad yet.

Well, I honestly have to agree with Eagle1 also.
I rate the first 26 races a 5, and the last 10, a -2.

And NBC "Nothing But Commercials" can get stuffed.

An Award to NBC for today's race.

The Racing itself, an 8.....The Media coverage -5.

Let's let Mike Mulhearn call the races next year

In a small way, I'm looking forward to Fox, despite JAWS.

the season was pretty good, even though my least favorite driver won the championship and my most favorite driver had a terrible year, I enjoyed it. I give it an 8...as for tv coverage, I think Benny Parsons and DW need to retire. Both of them take away from my race watching experience...and I know, I know, turn off the sound and listen to the radio, but I don't get the race on any radio stations at my parents house and I just now got tv here at mine.

The racing I'll give am 8,the C4C format a 1,since there are no 0's,=4.5 on the season.Could've been great without that blasted contrived new points system.
Congrats to the "fake" Champion Kurt Busch, the "real" Champion is Jeff Gordon as He led the "real" points each week during the C4C segment.JMHO.

I'm going to give it a solid 9, leaning towards the 10 spot. I agree that a little tweaking can be done, but isn't all that necessary.

Overall, I give the season an honest 7. I'm not all that thrilled with the new point system, but not horrified by it.

It is just getting harder and harder to get good racing. With plate "races", fuel mileage races like Pocono, cookie cutter tracks and the like, good old 1 mile and under races are getting fewer and farther between. I don't begrudge people who like plate "races" (although for the life of me I can't figure out the attraction) or people who wanted another race in California or Texas. I just personally enjoy places like Martinsville, Bristol, Rockingham, Richmond, Dover and the like much much better.

The R4C I would give a 2, because it doesn't give a reading of a complete season and basically makes the first 26 races a ho-hum deal. The racing was good so about a 7 or 8. Both networks need major overhaul of their coverage though. Benny and DW are more of a penalty for the viewers than anything. I don't mind Wally, Larry and Jeff though. Would like to see someone like Dr. Punch back though. Too many commercials and geewiz aids for the announcers to play with. Pay attention to the racing and the pitting and stop with the paying attention to just a handfull of drivers.
