Rate The Truck Race: Eldora

I did not watch at all, as I was a a Lucas Oil Late model race last night at Jackson Mn.

, but reading thru the comments from the race, it sounded like a 9.5. :)

just great racing
how long before nascar fixes this?

I only gave it a 7 based on what TV did show. The finish was a 10.

8 very good race, some of the yellows closer to the end ruined it but the finished helped keep it at an 8. Very enjoyable.

10... it was great to have heats that actually meant something. I wish they didn't use provisionals in the LCQ...that kinda killed it but oh well. Great racing in the main...a little bit of a demo derby at the end but cleaner than most years with some nice long (relative) stretches of green flag racing.

10 as a Nascar change-of-pace event that had a great finish between two deserving contenders. Strictly judging as a professional dirt race, it was mediocre racing because the trucks are too heavy, the tires too small, and some entrants are like a fish out of water. But as a one-off in the truck series, Eldora is so fun, always a highlight of the year. It is kind of like stock cars on roadracing courses... that the cars/trucks are not designed for that is part of the charm.

Yeah I pretty much did the same thing. I couldn't believe 4 wide on a dirt track, the trucks once again put on a hell of a show.

For the lead on that one restart as well when Seavey spun the tires. I’ll have to go with a 10, it had everything and I was glued the whole time. That ending was unreal

I have been telling my wife and friends for years that the trucks almost always put on the best show of the weekend,I watch them almost every time they are on just because the races are usually close.

Well said, mostly mirrors my thoughts. I do suggest that they could go a little further toward a dedicated dirt package with possibilities of shedding a couple hundred pounds, suspension modifications, and a grippier tire. Any Xfinity or above level race would require this effort IMO. But these races sure are fun anyway as a change of pace and connection to grass roots racing.
