Rate the Wreck (Daytona)

4, racing was good at times. Should've waited it out a little longer IMO. The rain totally sucked the enjoyment out of the race.

A 3 is about the best I can do, only good thing was the winner. I hated how a debris caution would come out every time Junior and/or Danica got into trouble.

Can't go 10---didn't get all of my laps. 3.

3... What's usually the most exciting track on the circuit, to me at least, turned out to be the worst of the year due to rain.

Race 5/10. Great racing when they could.
Winner 11/10 May be suspicious but great to see Almirola get his first win

Just finished watching on DVR (recorded the program scheduled for this morning). Ignoring the wrecks, the race was pretty good - I'll go with a 6.

My vote is not influenced by commercials or long stretches of red flag, though.

this race was doomed when it got rained out last night. i believe last night it could have been a good race

Only because I enjoy Cup so much I'll giving it a 2. But as others have said, wreck fest, terrible weather & rain shortened event. I'm just not a fan of restricter plate races in general, because there always seems to be more wrecks than excitement & racing.

I hate re-scheduled and rain shortened races, then there was NASCAR's crappy, manufactured cautions. Good to see a bunch of second stringers get a chance to run well though.

Rate the wreck. lol

Race - 2
wreck #1 - 8
wreck #2 - 9
DVR with fast forward - 10

I give the race a 7, when they were racing it was great, but the wrecks downgrade it
I give Aric Almirola a 10, always have liked him, saw him win a K&N East race at Dover back when he was a DEI driver

Agreed he's a really good guy and underrated race car driver. Having a feel good winner salvaged what was a pretty crappy weekend

Not gonna lie. I first started watching NASCAR as a kid for the wrecks, but as time marched on, I began to appreciate the real racing we see between the cautions.
As I've said before, I like the hard racing that precipitates some wrecks, but Daytona and Talladega are different.
Expect the expected.

Sucks to see so many good cars taken out from the two crashes, especially my drivers. No one to blame, though, imo.
It's a product of what we see every year.
Grateful no one got hurt. Pretty damn lucky we didn't see anyone barrel roll hard and Kyle can joke about his Tommy tip-over.

Can't complain about seeing that #43 in victory lane, particularly after the anniversary.

Movin' on.

I know wrecks are part of racing but they're the part I don't like. Caution laps ain't and never will be part of exciting racing in my book, however, when I look back they become part of the lore and that's where I prefer them. In the rear view mirror.
