Despite some heart breaking news today, how would YOU rate the race???

5

New pavement seemed to make it quite hard to pass or be passed. Just ask Jr. :(

Note:
I'm a Jr fan and that wasn't a dig.

I didn't hear every second of the race but it gets high marks for Bestwick NOT blathering on about people who are new to Nascar..maybe someone told him to shut his trap about it. Being a hockey player myself, I'm starting to get some insight in to just how he got a broken leg. Can you imagine him explaing the rules on the bench?

I must say that I thought Kvapil ran a pretty good first race - as opposed to the Petty cars...who gave new meaning to "out for a Sunday drive".

Uh, Jeff Green did have a top-10 finish. ^_^

I guess I'd have to rate the race a 6.5 due to the new surface with little to no passing and all of the crashes. And the finish a 10!

The surface made it tough to pass but it was still a darn good race. Junior had some bad luck and made more than his share of errors plus created quite a few accidents, not all looking like they were unintentional.

Jeff Gordon pulled another rabbit out of the hat and Jimmy Johnson had two hard chargers, each with a deep desire to win, making like sibiling rivals, make his win slightly easier the last few laps.

All in all, it was a race worth watching again just to re-live the way racing used to be.

Give this race a seven point five (7.5) .

Well I'm going to give it a 4. IMO there wasn't much racing just a giant crash fest. Can't give high marks for 15 laps of good racing at the end of an almost 5 hours of either follow the leader or crash fest.

I will give it a 6.5. Good racing at the end especially. I agree with the announcers, too bad that they didn't put in some variable banking while they were repaving the track....ie, like Homestead.

Its never good when the pace car leads the most laps. :(
Bingo.

I like me a good short track race...key word being race. 25% of the race under caution is not my idea of high entertainment.

In a few years, when a second groove emerges, this should once again be an exciting track. Just not yesterday.

Sadler ending any delusions of having even an outside chance to win the Cup also didn't boost my rating of the race any.

A good solid 4 seems about right to this marsupial.

Because of all the caution laps and the length of time it took to get this race in the books; and all the silly bumping and crashing, I refuse to give this race (?) more than a 3.5.

I like short track racing. But this one did look like bumper cars. I will still give it a 7.5.

I would have to struggle to give a 5. Too much follow the guy in front. There were few drivers that could pass and too many cautions. I hope time will return this to a two groove race track.

I would echo those sentiments. It was not a very good race as there was very little racing. The only bright spot that even made it worth watching besides the Ryan-Rusty-Jamie to do was
Junior had some bad luck and made more than his share of errors plus created quite a few accidents, not all looking like they were unintentional.
