NASCAR Scene notes that this year's ratings in the 18-49 demo (before ABC tookover) was JUST AS HIGH as last year's record setting (for NASCAR on TV) ratings.
NASCAR "Wide Open" at Daytona was the highest rated primetime show on cable this year.
"Wide Open" was also the highest rated ad-supported cable broadcast (viewers 18-49, 25-54) this year.
As I've said before, NASCAR shouldn't be worried about the much hyped ratings decline.
There were significant drops in those numbers in the closing races this season (ABC).
ABC did bring the lowest rated NASCAR broadcast (on Over the Air) to date.
More than 6 million viewers watched the Pepsi 400 on TNT.
Again, it's important to stress that "6 million viewers" is probably the equivalent to 50 or 60 million viewers as there is no way to know exactly how many viewers there are. Demographics and total viewer demographics are just that, and usually only represent about 10% of the media share.
I thought this was an interesting tidbit. It's in one of the 3 most recent issues of NASCAR Scene.
