So you can beat up a woman and only get a two game suspension. If you're an NFL player......
Funny, per the NFL, smoking pot is worse than beating your wife. Unbelievable.
That's a very good point.Funny, per the NFL, smoking pot is worse than beating your wife. Unbelievable.
Yeah, they do. It just doesn't make any sense at all. You talk about sending out the wrong message.Ace Sanders, likely to be suspended for four games with no reason being stated by the NFL. Justin Blackmon, suspended indefinitely for pot. Ray Rice beats up his wife, gets a two game suspension.
The NFL has some fucked up priorities.

I wonder what states those would be if there were? Alabama and where else?Great point.
Wonder if there are 2 states where it's legal to beat your wife?
Ohio.I wonder what states those would be if there were? Alabama and where else?
Hi Fergy. I figured you'd see this first and like it.Ohio.
What's even more pathetic is she's still with him.Beyond pathetic.
She even married him after this. What's even more pathetic is she's still with him.
It's probably all his money. If he hits her again now they're married she can take all his money. houses, kids, everything. Maybe he's the dumba$$.She even married him after this.
Funny, per the NFL, smoking pot is worse than beating your wife. Unbelievable.
But, how is this going to be enforced. Does there have to be a conviction? Rice wan't convicted of anything by the State of Maryland. They let him off, mostly because his victim, err, his girlfriend/wife didn't want to press charges because it gave her more financial leverage to not do so."I didn't get it right." No ****.
New rule changes: Six-game ban for first domestic violence offense, lifetime ban for second offense. Boom.

Of course. She even married him after this.
Failed test one was for pot.I assuming you are going off of the Gordon comparison. I absolutely do not condone Rice's actions and I absolutely can't stand him as a player, but you can't compare the 2 game Rice got to the year that Gordon got. Up until now, Rice was a clean guy, Gordon on the other hand is a 3 time offender, and had multiple chances to clean up his act. Again, I do think beating a women is way worse than smoking weed, but again it was a first time offender vs a two time. By the way I think Rice should have gotten at least 6-8 games, but I agree with the year Gordon got.
Failed test one was for pot.
Failed test two was for codeine in a prescription medication he had for strep throat.
Failed test three, first sample tested for 16 ng/ml. Thats one nanogram over the 15 ng/ml limit. Thats equivilabt to just walking into a room when someone just lit up. If he smoked, just one hit would put him over that. The second sample tested was clean.
The NFL policy is a joke. The freakin' Olympics limit is 150 ng/ml. To get a year long ban is a complete joke. You can try to justify the 2 games vs season all you want, but fact is, there is no justifying it. You can beat the sh*t out of a woman and get only 2 games is completely ridiculous.
Baltimore not reacting isn't surprising. Hell, they did nothing to a murderer, why would they do any different for a wife beater?NFL or not Baltimore should have disciplined him severely. In fact good people shouldn't want a team member that beats women.
I agree it is a joke, I also think drug policy for my work sucks, but I follow it. NFL players know what they can and can't put in their body, even the smallest amounts. Still think it is on him. Sorry.
