Raybestos/NASCAR promotion problems

All I can really hope for is a rookie year challenging that of Johnson and Newman a few years back. I really think Gaughan could make a big splash if he brought his truck team pit crew with him (I know his tire specialist/catchcan man), but i totally understand what everyone else is saying. I really think there needs to be more development of drivers coming up from other series. I mean, it's great that these drivers are getting to come up don't get me wrong. I was talking to my dad (who's been a fan since before Winston was the sponsor) and we agreed that the biggest problem is these super young/unexperienced drivers coming up to the cup level and trying to back up these big sponsors...then, the sponsors, who are ready for a big boost and lots of wins, don't understand that a driver has to mature at the cup level (see: Sprague) before they can dominate and not only does the driver lose his place, but the sponsor becomes disenchanted with the whole NASCAR program (basically what will happen to AOL this year). It's just a shame that this could ruin our sport. What do y'all think?

i think johnny sauter is as ready as anyone else who is in the rookie class this year. If you ask me its going to be UAW Dodge thats going to have problems.

there certainly is a lot of truth to this post! With the advances in the engineering side of Nascar >> it ends up being easier for the teams to hire young guys that will not question engineers >> they say that 9 out of 10 times the engineer will have a better set up idea than what the driver will! The seat of the pants stuff doesn't seem to work good anymore! Young guys are more easily moldable to the teams demands!
