RCR going to Dodge?

Would be #1 again with a manufacturer by making the switch.

My thread is different because it does not have a question mark

Good point. You don't have a question mark Fender. Looks like you lose.

As far as RCR switching to DODGE, if it comes to be, that's interesting indeed. Are there any links at all to validate this other than a tweet?

LOL

I see that Rusty34 just confirmed your rumor in another thread.

Confirmed it's a rumor, or that it's true?

I figured it would be the Gnassi, RCR and DEI trio, but Gnassi went with the evil one. If RCR goes over, DEI may end up as the engine builder since they wouldn't have many Chevy customers left. I still think RPM will make the move at some point.

My post count is higher, so I win!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There.
You got the time-stamp thingy in your favor too. Good luck with your fight for thread superiority. Superiority? My new word for the day.

All I know is it's less than five hours until kickoff and I'm short on beer. I need to fix that problem so I'm leaving now.

Without a new deck lid? That's risky.

I may have to try and watch some football until racing starts. :(

Look for RCR to be courting a prominent NNS and NCWTS team owner so Dodge can come out of the box strong again in all three series.

Now I can add a question mark... will DEI once again be bustling with activity?

Interesting. You knew Dodge didn't go to all the trouble of developing a Gen6 car just to leave the sport. I wouldn't have suspected long-time Chevy stalwart Childress of jumping ship.

Who else is affiliated with RCR . Furniture Row? Turner Motorsports?

Me too.

RCR is affiliated w/ Furniture Row and TBR. Turner is Hendrick powered. I actually feel this has a shot of happening. I don't buy in to the #1 to the manufacturer theory. JGR left Chevrolet "to win a championship" and hasn't sniffed one since. He's been with T*yota a year longer then he was with Chevrolet. I think it'd be a decision to keep RCR in operation more than a decision to leave Chevrolet. I don't believe there is an issue with RCR power, I think it's the racecars. Same with Ganassi, I don't think switching to Hendrick is gonna be a magic wan over their performance. Dodge needs a motor program, and RCR is gonna need some funding. Kevin Harvick is leaving and taking Budweiser and his sponsors, this is CAT's last year and Jeff Burton isn't performing. That leaves Paul Menard, and his grandkids. With Bass Pro Shops hooked with Tony Stewart now, they're gonna need a lot more than "Daddy's Money" Paul Menard to continue.

I agree GP , it's a survival move. It gives Dodge a combined 5 or 6 car base and a pretty fair engine shop. With some input from the Dodge engineers ,it might give RCR and Furniture Row a big boost in performance . That ,along with the publicity, might help with sponsorship.

Is there any substance or is this just speculation? A real question, no snark intended.

I'd say speculation at this time .May even be a rumor started by RC.

From a business standpoint I can see it, but in the same sense I see the reasons to stay with Chevy. He would also loose some possible marketing to some future sponsors for Austin in the Chevy # 3.

RCR is losing Kevin and Burton is on the ropes, and I'm sure Dodge will offer cash to the first big team in. It has to suck being Chevy teams #8, 9, 10 and that will get even worse this year and next. They've been pushed so far from the center of Chevys universe, being the big fish in the smaller pond of last years champ must look real good. With Dodge' big jump in November sales, they may now see the value of being in nascar.

Meant it would make them the #1 again in the pecking order with Dodge when just a few short years ago they were #1 in the Chevy camp, but now not so much

Given the financial woes of Dodge's owners (FIAT) I can't imagine they will try to get back into NASCAR unless Sergio thinks they will get a massive return on their investment.

Their woes are in Europe, but everywhere else they are doing well. Record Jeep sales, new plants in China, etc, but they want to close their operations in Italy. Many internationals are closing shop in the EU because the model is broken. BMW now exports 2/3 of their Spartanburg production, much of it back to the EU. FIAT just might see North America, and nascar, as more important than ever. I'm sure they are regretting not going all out to keep Penske.

WooooHoooo 1 post without Brads name in it.Good Job FB:D

Right now, RCR is #3 at best with Chevy (if you count SHR as the #2 "team"). Moving from #3 to #1 somewhere else would be the reason why. Sure would be odd to see RCR to be running Dodges.
