RCR-Goodwrench Announce Expertise Challenge
GM Goodwrench, along with NASCAR Nextel Cup star Kevin Harvick and team owner Richard Childress, announce a new national promotion, the No. 29 Goodwrench Expertise Challenge. If Harvick wins two out of 12 selected NASCAR Nextel Cup races, 29 lucky fans will receive an all-new 2007 Chevy Avalanche, and GM Goodwrench will set up a $200,000 scholarship fund to encourage young men and women to pursue careers as automotive technicians.
The No. 29 Goodwrench Expertise Challenge begins May 28 with the Coca-Cola 600 and concludes Nov.19.
“The excellent performance of Kevin and the GM Goodwrench No. 29 race team so far this season has excited a lot of people. This contest gives fans another reason to cheer the team on to victory,” said Jim Moloney, general director of marketing, GM Service and Parts Operations. “In addition, the scholarship money helps ensure the future Mr. Goodwrench gets the training he or she needs to help maintain GM vehicles today and for years to come.”
Aspiring technicians aren’t the only winners. If Harvick and the team meet the Expertise Challenge by winning two of the 12 selected races, GM Goodwrench will award 29 Grand Prizes that consist of an all-new 2007 Chevy Avalanche, a $1,000 GM vehicle maintenance certificate and a trunk full of Reese’s products.
If Harvick wins only one race during the promotion, GM Goodwrench will award a 2007 Chevy Avalanche, a $1,000 GM vehicle maintenance certificate and a trunk full of Reese’s products to two winners. GM Goodwrench will also donate $25,000 to the GM Goodwrench Scholarship Fund. If no races are won during the promotion, GM Goodwrench will still give away an Avalanche, a $1,000 GM vehicle maintenance certificate and a trunk full of Reese’s products to one winner, and provide a $25,000 donation to the GM Goodwrench Scholarship fund.
"The entire Goodwrench No. 29 team and I are ready for this challenge, and we hope to make GM Goodwrench give away all 29 Grand Prizes,” said Harvick. “I'm also happy that my victories will send some well-deserving students to school for a career as automotive service technicians. It's a great way to keep the expertise of GM Goodwrench strong for the next generation."
