Red Barron to Sponsor #49 And Schrader

Red Baron Pizza will be the primary sponsor for Nextel Cup Series veteran Ken Schrader and BAM Racing's No. 49 Dodges this entire season, sources confirmed Thursday to ThatsRacin.com.
The move should allow the team to expand on the foundation it laid in 2003, its first full-season in Cup racing.

Schrader has run well in this week's preseason test at Daytona. He was fastest in one-lap qualifying runs Thursday, and was 15th fastest in Thursday's late afternoon drafting session.
 
Schrader and Red Baron have a long history as Red Baron sponsored Schrader when he first came to NASCAR in the late eighties.
 
Congrats to Schrader, I agree with de7, I hope it makes him competitive.
 
now we just need some paint on that 74 and we'll be in business.
 
It would be nice to see ole Schrader be more competitive this season.
I can still picture him napping, strapped in his car before qualifying.

UPDATE: from a Ken Schrader fan club emailing......: "As far as what is going on with Kenny and BAM Racing....No, Red Baron is not going to be the sponsor. I really wish I could say more, but with all the rumors that were incorrectly generated past few weeks I can't say much. Yes, they have a full-time sponsor (it is a good one), Ken will be the driver and BAM will compete in the complete NEXTEL Cup season...Other than that...stay tuned...they will be making the announcement sometime around February 3, 2004.
being told it will not be Red Baron Pizza specifically but it's parent company Schwans who could be the sponsor.
 
I saw the BAM transporter go though town this morn coming back from Las Vagas.
