Reflecting back on this past year

This past year, the racing family in Winston Salem lost a long time driver, Charles "Bubba" Beck 1935-2002. He died on the track of a massive heart attack. This was the second death of a driver that died while I was in attendance. I also was in attendance at Daytona when DE was killed. It saddens me to think that the sport I so love is so deadly. I know that in Bubba's case, it wasn't the sport that killed him, but nevertheless, he died while going full blast down the back stretch. My wish for the new year is for a safe and deathless year.
