Great post. Davey was one I watched. He was my Aunts fav driver. In fact, when he died, she cried...ALOT.

I worked in Birmingham, AL through 1994, and a buddy of mine worked (volunteer) for Clifford's team that Davey owned - in whatever the Nationwide/XFinity series was called back then. I had the chance to work one weekend (well, nearly full week) with them for the Talladega race but couldn't get off work; that would have been an experience.
Went to the local drag races a bit as a friend had a bracket car and would see Neil Bonnet there occasionally. A pretty high percentage of the Alabama Gang missing in action all too soon...

RIP Davey. That period between Aug. '91 and Feb. '94 was rough for NASCAR. We lost JD McDuffie, Clifford Allison, Alan Kulwicki, Davey Allison, Rodney Orr, and Neil Bonnett all in a span of 30 months. Hope to never see a stretch like that again.
