Report: Charlotte Chase race to be run on the oval

It's longer than any other race so it doesn't really bother me that it pays more points.
Me neither, and I have always loved the 600. The endurance part is special even if someone is dominant and stinks up the show. I am good with the stage points too, I just hate the attached mandatory cautions .

I think my feelings about the D500 are well-known. I too prefer the C600, I just find it hard to believe NASCAR intentional made an SMI race arguably the most important of the season.

Then why have them? So drivers can get out and stretch their legs? The stage cautions are for the media to blather us with full screen commercials. That means for me it is time to catch up on my YouTube vid clips I am watching, or maybe follow the racing thread at the R-F if it isn't nonsense. Sundays are the top viewing days on the channels I follow. Sometimes 3 or 4 hours worth on Sundays.

I never worry about the commercials too much as long an update is provided afterwards.

I try to use the commercial breaks to do others things as well. Load the dishwasher, refill a drink, hit the restroom etc. I think I prefer that over being stationary for several hours.

NASCAR fans change their mind like they change their underwear. We have people getting nostalgic for Fontana and Kentucky after begging for both to be off the schedule.

Give it enough time and some people will be nostalgic for the playoffs.

The Roval was always a gimmick race though. Honestly, it lasted longer than I thought it would.

Yeah the Roval is a nice road course. Many fans mistakenly think the Roval isn't a true road course. It is a 2.32 miles of road course with many variations in the corners along with high speed stretches. Very technical road course. At 2.32 miles, it compares in length to Sonoma at 2.52 miles and Watkins Glenn at 2.45 miles. The difference is the fan can watch almost all of the Roval race from their seat but it lacks the carnival atmosphere of the other two.
I think Nascar did a lazy job of educating the fans about the Roval. Fans are fickle and need to be constantly reminded of some things. The pieces I saw about the track mostly had an in car driver with a camera driving the track in a rental car.

From Ethan Clark's North Carolina's Weather Authority page.

Anyone who lives in North Carolina knows Ethan's a very good resource during severe weather events, especially after Hurricane Helene.

For reference: Winston is 30 miles west of Greensboro. The totals might be a little bit lower there, but only a little bit.

When I talk about what I'm getting, I'm about 15 miles east of Jacksonville, basically right on the Atlantic Ocean.

After a couple of decades of doing chores during commercials, my body clock knows when 2 minutes and 30 seconds is about to elapse. People would be surprised how much you can accomplish in multiple brief stints.
