I've seen people post things saying Islam is a religion of destruction and widespread killing while responding to the troll. Heres what I have to say about it:

1. You have to be either ignorant or stupid to believe Islam is a religion of destruction and killing. Read the Koran instead of making false generalizations. I've heard about Muslim firefighters who've died in the WTC, fought in many wars alongside American soldiers, hell they even serve in our Armies nowadays. So to say that Islam promotes killing and pillaging would be downright bigotry.

2. Though I am a Roman Catholic, I show my respect to any faith that registers to the forum and you people should do the same. Relgious intolerance shouldnt be allowed. Dont some of you know that you're showing a bad example to anyone trying to register on the forum? :angry:

3. If this post is deleted or locked, then I'll just laugh because I saw Gollum, with all my respect to him, he's a great member but he made a false generalization about Islam and that post stayed there.
 
Happy. just for the record. I dont mind if religion is talked about on the board. BUT to just copy and paste stastics from another site is NOT considered a post. If you want to talk religion at least have the =decency to use your own words and reasoning.(like what you have done here.)
That is the reasoning behind ME locking the thread. IF the only contribution to the site is coping stuff from another site we dont need it.

Here you go sparky....a few lines from the Koran:

Killing infidels assures you of Paradise, 47:4-6: When ye encounter the infidels, strike off their heads till ye have made a great slaughter among them, . . . And whoso fight for the cause of God, their works he will not suffer to miscarry; He will vouchsafe them guidance, and dispose their hearts aright; And he will bring them into the Paradise, of which he hath told them.

“I heard Allah's Messenger (peace_be_upon_him) saying, "The example of a Mujahid in Allah's cause-and Allah knows better who really strives in His cause-is like a person who fasts and prays continuously. Allah guarantees that He will admit the Mujahid in His cause into Paradise if he is killed, otherwise He will return him to his home safely with rewards and war booty" (Hadith, Sahi al-Buchari 4.46).

Yep, one killed two of his fellow troops and wounded several others....on purpose.

The Koran talks about killing infidels...Webster's says
1 : one who is not a Christian or who opposes Christianity
2 a : an unbeliever with respect to a particular religion b : one who acknowledges no religious belief

So whoever isn't a Christian must be killed. Sounds like a great religion to me.

I've faced the intolerance of right-wingers too bud and I'm getting sick of it to tell you the truth. Well, I know that I cant win against a place that supports the restriction of free-thinking, other religions and civil liberties, the right to worship what you please. So might as well give up.

I don't think I said anything about gays, lesbians, and people who can't get along with the right wing party. Look at my post a little slower next time....

My post was in regards to your post about the Koran and you saying that a person must "be either ignorant or stupid to believe Islam is a religion of destruction and killing". Those scriptures are out of the Koran.

And as far as taking this thread out of context, YOU don't bring in the gays, lesbians, three-toed sloth or whoever else your going to try to. But then again, that is the typical liberal response... trying to spin things around other than defend what you have just said.

4X, a little help would be appreciated... ;) But then again, I'm not gonna waste my time either....Folks who aren't even old enough to vote have all the answers...
 
Fergy I'll help you out a little if i can.....There are parts of the Islam religion that are contradictory for sure. For the most part Ilsam is a peaceful way of life, it is the radical wing of the religion which is taking the Islam way of life and adding violence and brain washing . Their Jihad will reach world wide, it is already starting to creep into many parts of the world. If it isn't stopped soon the world won't be free, we won't have Nascar or any other sports to gripe about. Happy.... i know your intentions are good , but look at the entire picture here and ponder it a bit. Just my opinion of course and yes i Used to be a liberal democrat back in the early 90s before i opened up my eyes and saw the light.

I agree that happy went quite a bit overboard with his recent posts but I cant beleive alot of you are complaining about happys post and find nothing wrong with gollums. I thought it was very prejudice and bigoted. All these people claiming to be good christians sure are doing alot of judging.

This (my post) has nothing to do with the earlier thread being locked, that person was clearly just posting articles and wasting space.
 
Extremisim in anything is a negative. The passages from the Koran interpreted as a killing tool, are the passages turned toward extremism.

The wacko's who were leaders in Afghanistan before the invasion by the U.S. of A. are of a variety who use religious extremes and the ignorance of their followers as a personal tool.
This does not make every person in Afghanistan a rouge. The warlords use intimidation to maintain control just as street gangs offering "protection " in America do. The Afghanis are caught between a rock and a hard place. The same holds true for Pakistan.

Not all members of Islam are or believe they should kill for thier religion as has been attested to by the millions who hold the faith yet practice standards observered by many throughout the world as being the "right" way. Offering love and compassion, upholding the law of the country in which they live or fighting for the government of the country in which they live.

Closing your eyes or promoting hate to everyone who practices the religion of Islam makes those who do so no better than the ones who are the extremists perpetuating a jihad. Look at the internal battles that take place in northern Ireland as an example of religious extremism.

America is in a tough spot right now. This country was damned if we did and damned if we didn't go into Afghanistan and Iraq.
I firmly believe the battles we are fighting today would have happened eventually. It was only a matter of time.
As the situation became worse, different administrations took what they considered the appropriate path. After the action taken by this administration, there can be no turning back. We are in it for the long haul.

The outcome of a quick peace or defeat of the enemy does not look good when one stops to realize for the first time in our modern history, attacks causing massive casualties on our shores are not just a possibility but a reality.

America is NOT a peaceful nation but a nation of war. Our forefathers have fought battles and committed atrocities as great as those of any other country. Not all of it was done in the name of world peace. But we are still a great nation and we must all stand tall or we will not exist. One way for us to continue to exist is to be tolerant of others who we will need to fight side by side with us and keep us a strong nation. We need to continue to discuss the right and wrong, as we see them as individuals, or it will all be for naught.

It is obvious there are opposing views, and most are well founded, making for meaningful debate. Others thoughts have been interjected, too.
So let the debate continue, but please, do not get personal. :cheers:
 
Thanks for takeing a shot at old Gollum,Happy. You better wake up and smell the coffee. The Muslun have been fighting for over 1000 years. If they can't kill us or Jews they will kill themselves.If you don't like me or what I say All I can say is tuff. Deal with it. :angry:
 
Ok board members I have cooled off. I will say that I am sorry if I affended anyone. I call the shots like I see them And Smack I am Not a Bigot or predujce. I have enjoyed being on this board. And have made a few friends. If everyone else can say what they wish and I can't then maybe it's time for me to leave. I know some of you smartass will say dont let the door hit you on the way out. Well go ahead make my day. :angry:
 
You have nothing to worry about, Gollum. You ain't going anywhere! ;) And, even tho' I don't think it was really necessary, thank you for the apology. :)
