Reutimann to take over #45 for Petty in 2009? Look for David Reutimann to be announced soon as the replacement for Kyle Petty in the #45 car, something the Petty folks would rather we not know about just yet.

Sounds like Beak's interested in winning a championship now. :sarcasm:

Works for me. I like what I've seen from Reuttimann so far. Richard dropped a hint in an interview a couple weeks ago when he said that "Kyle had better be ready for some life changes come next year".

UPDATE: "David is currently under contract at Michael Waltrip Racing and we are looking forward to continuing our relationship with him," Calvin Wells III said. "He made his first NASCAR Sprint Cup Series start with Michael Waltrip Racing in 2005 and has been with the Waltrip family since making his first NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race in 2004 with Darrell Waltrip Motorsports. He has had success driving for the Waltrips and we look forward to having him back with the team next year."(MWR PR)(7-10-2008) Comment here

The only looking forward that MWR has done is trying to make the next race.

It's not 7-10 yet. :D

Problem is, UPS is leaving MWR and the whole orginization is in deep trouble.

I think it would be an excellent move for Petty Enterprise, but if they don't get their respective chit together, it may be a killer for Rude!! I like Rude's intensity and I believe that coupled with the right chief, he could go places. Could Rude be a sign of the Petty Toyota? Just a thought!! Duane

Very, very doubtful.

I wouldn't be to sure, I heard R Petty talking very glowingly about them here a few months back. I wouldn't want to see it, but still, it wouldn't suprise me. Duane
