My son and I went to MIS yesterday to do the ride along. If you haven't done it, give it a go. My son was grinning ear to ear when he got out of the car. The staff is great. Watch the website around Thanksgiving for some big savings...

We are going to do the driving experience next year.

Smoke, I was at Charlotte on my 50th birthday(some years back, LOL) and did the ride.

Oh, my goodness. I found out why those guys race --- that gives you an adrenaline rush like you've never experienced.

I've always wanted to do this.

My mother-in-law's next door neighbor has done several driving sessions. It's his goal to do one at each track where they're offered.

So far he's done them at Chicagoland, Michigan, Charolette, and I think Richmond.

One of the drivers at the local track is gonna let me take their Street Stock out for a drive :growl:

They should have a John Force's Driving Experience so I could drive a nitro flopper :growl::growl::growl:

They have propane powered dragsters at Speedzone, Andy...

Did the ride-along a couple of years ago and have tickets for both the wife and I to do again. I'd love to do the drive-along, but I noticed a couple of things that I didn't like. First, you are limited to stay below a certain speed which is slower than the ride-alongs so doing the ride you will go faster. And secondly, which would probably hit me the worst is that you can't pass and if the guy in front of you is scared and drives too slow, but fast enough to not get the caution flag, you're screwed. I also enjoyed the drag race out of the pits the most. Because of that, I really would like to do the ride along at Martinsville where you have that excelleration two times each lap...but alas, so far they haven't offered it there.

Ditto. Same thing my dad said.

Ah yes, but if Buck Baker manages to bring it to North Wilkesboro, it won't be Martinsville but a good short track with acceleration. Did the ride along at the Walt Disney World track about five or six years ago. Would like to try the drive along thing but have the same concerns Buck mentioned.
