Richard Petty Motorsports to field Indy 500 car for Andretti

Well, there is a waste of money. Gee I wonder why they have financial problems? John may be a good guy, but you have to know what to spend your money on.
 
Perhaps they should try spending the money on AJ's sponsorship and getting the others to run better
 
I'll let John answer this question for us all once I digitize it and Cesar uplods it.

This may turn out to be a pretty shrewd deal. The Indy 500 is a very attractive venue for a potential sponsor, and RPM may be able to swing a package deal for the NASCAR operation.

He ran very good at Indy, Milwaukee and Richmond last year. He ran with a very low budget team and was top 10 in every race (top 15 at indy) before mechanical problems.

Besides, it doesn't look like they'll be running the 2 Pocono ARCA races and the Michigan ARCA race so that saves them about a half million.
 
who knows how long this deal has been in the works. It could have been set and unannounced when the major financial problems weren't there. There has got to be a point where it would cost more to drop everything instead of going ahead with it.
 
Andretti isn't a half-bad Indy Car driver. He's had some good runs over there last year.
