Ryan Newman (for the second week in a row) is the runner-up again! That makes five times in his young career that he's been second-best.

Todd Bodine (5th) had his best finish since he was 5th at Watkins Glen in August of 2001. His Top-5 finish gives us 28 drivers to hit that mark this season....last year's number was 34.

Dave Blaney (9th) had his best finish since he was 9th at Fontana in
April.

Jeremy Mayfield (10th) had his best finish since he was 5th when we were here in May.

Kenny Wallace (14th) had his best finish since he was 10th at Rockingham in February (he was subbing for Steve Park in the #1 car then).

Brett Bodine (20th) had his best finish since he was 19th when we were here in May.

Mike Skinner (22nd) had his best finish since he was 12th at Infineon in June.

Hermie Sadler (23rd) had his best finish since he was 18th when we were here in May (only 3 races).

Mike Wallace led for the first time since Atlanta last November. Greg Biffle led tonight for the first time in his career. Those two drivers
bring the number of different leaders this season to 44....we had 48 in that category last year.

Newman's gonna get one before too long. If not before, I think he'll take Charlotte. Dover could be good to him too.

Still early, but the preliminary reports indicate that yes, indeed, Hut Stricklin really did suck that badly. This comes as a surprise to exactly whom...?

Imagine what Mike Wallace could do in a real car. He was super sub last year, which earned him precisely squat this season. Now he is worse off than when he was without a ride...he's driving for A.J.

Somebody better tell Jeff Green that he's a middle of the pack car, cuz he sure don't know it.

Anyone else find themselves wondering if Chip Ganassi was wishing he HAD put a ringer in BOTH his cars Saturday night? They could have held a full team meeting by lap 20. Fortunately, that stellar TNT coverage had 23 of their 25 cameras focused on other things, so unless one was at the track, one has no Earthly idea why they spun. But hey, at least we knew where Junior was running when it happened...

Matt Kenseth has signed a deal with Goodyear to provide him with blown right front tires for the rest of the season, thus assuring that he will win the remainder of the races. He also has petitioned NASCAR to allow him to start the races one lap down.

Was Kevin Harvick even in the race Saturday? Thinking back, I don't remember seeing him all night. Not that I'm complaining about that...

Anyone else wonder how much praise would have been heaped on JJ, Gordon, or Tony if THEY had been the ones to move within 10 points of the lead, while finishing top 10? Just curious. Mark kinda likes it there in the neglected corner I think.

And yes, I did notice. Nice job missing the wall 1600 times Steve. I for one didn't think you had it in you.
