Looking at the thread listing, I couldn't help but think of Tim Richmond. I sure miss that guy. He had a way of wowing the fans with his style, very much like that of Dale Earnhardt. He could sure drive on bias ply tires, but never was tested on those radials. RIP Tim.
 
I saw him race at Stafford Speedway in Conn., back in the early to mid 80s. He came in to challenge the local Mod guys, he was unreal started towards the back and won the race easily. His was a career that was cut way too short, he was an awesome driver.
 
I guess my first memory of Tim was when he came into the Indy cars. He was a brash young man and I thought he would do it all. When he went to the Cup cars, it surprised me how well he adapted after watching him in those open wheel cars. Talent, that he had.
