Harold Holly, crew chief for NASCAR Grand National rookie Scott Riggs, has resigned his position at ppc Racing effectively immediately to pursue opportunities in the Winston Cup series.
Sources confirmed Wednesday Holly is likely to end up at Richard Childress Racing, where he will rejoin driver Jeff Green, with whom Holly won the 2000 Grand National championship.
Where Green's current crew chief, Todd Berrier, will end up is unclear, but he could remain at RCR in another position, sources said.
"We do not have a replacement for Harold yet," said ppc Racing co-owner Greg Pollex. "The No.10 team has 15 wins under Harold's guidance and will continue to win races.
"(Co-owner) Keith (Barnwell) is in the process of reviewing our options and talking with some very strong candidates. We want to make sure we choose the right person for the team."
Pollex and Barnwell support Holly's decision to pursue Winston Cup opportunities.
