Riggs says no move to WC

Kind of lost in the Petree announcement that he and Jerry Jones would not be teaming up next year was the Scott Riggs deal which was reported as a done deal. Reckon not.

Many times, rumors prove to be true. The story leaks, and is laid bare for one and all to see. Scott Riggs and ppc Racing co-owner Keith Barnwell, however, insist this in not one of those times. Published reports had Riggs moving into a Winston Cup ride with Andy Petree Racing in 2003, but the driver says that's simply not the case.

maybe he should stay in bgn and hunt for the title next year then move to wc

Riggs has been doing respectively for his first year in Busch. He had big shoes to fill when he took the seat of the #10 Nesquik Ford, and I think he's done pretty well. Is he ready for a Cup ride? Not a chance. Does he have a lot of potential? I think so.

very wise of Riggs to stay in Busch. Hes a talented driver and could contend for the busch title. Hes just had some bad luck this year.

I hope he stays where he's at for another year. Then maybe move up then.

Very true rpm.......however you forgot to mention he needs to mature a little too. He's let his temper get in the way a few times in BGN......WC is tougher and I see a lot more frustration for him until he gets more experience under his belt. At least one more year but two wouldn't hurt.:)

His short fuse is one of the reasons I like him. :growl:

But another year in Busch won't kill him. Not premiering the same year as Greg Biffle and Jamie McMurray is probably wise as well...

True enough!

I can't wait to see what NASCAR's going to be like in a couple of years. How will today's young guns compare to the new crop, and how many of the old guns will still be around? Should be interesting... :)

Good move by Riggs, some drivers are making the move to cup way to soon.
