Riggs to the 10

Scott Riggs has signed, and will replace Johnny Benson in the #10 Valvoline Pontiac for 2004. Benson has a year left on his contract, and the team would honor their financial commitment if Benson does not land another ride. The team has no plans to run a third car in 2004. This will be a complete makeover for the MBV #10, a partnership of MB2 Racing and the Valvoline Company, following crew chief James Ince's release a few weeks ago. Ince and Benson have been with the team since its formation.

Don't know what to say about Johnny  I just hope he is in a full time ride with full time sponsor next year!

TO be honest I think this could be a bad move for Riggs! With a DEI and an RCR ride out there you would think that he would wait untill those have singed a driver before signing to drive for a second tier team! If he has talked to them ( RCR and DEI) and they both said that they wanted another driver than thats there loss. Riggs has too much potental to be driving for a second tier team!

IMO, I think the 10 car is about the same as the 1 or the 30. We all know the 1 doesn't get the same attention as the 8 or 15 or the 30 doesn't get the same attention as the 29 or 31. At least with the 10 car, that's kind of the best car out of that team. I feel Riggs made the best decision out of what was left.

There is gonna be some pretty good rides open. Hope Benson can land one.

as someone said in a previous post CAREER SUICIDE !! what is he thinking ??
Then again may be that DEI and RCR didn't make an offer.

Riggs fans should be glad he didn't go to the #1. That would be career suicide.

Scott Riggs is a very danm good driver so he will be winning races for MBV/MB2 Motorsports. Also look those two teams are part of Rick Hendrick Stanbles for R&D for Pointacs so they got good horsepower.

Well anything would be better than running 40th every week with the #1 car.

Is it me or are there a lot of 'good' seats still up for grabs right now? I get the feeling that the sponsors are having a lot of say in who is getting what rides.

whatever, just how many wins does the 10 car have hummmmmm ??? ONE!!

30 i know you are not happy with DEI bucause of the park thing, I like steve and hope he does well, however he hasn't done any better in the 30 car.
Riggs is a good driver and i was hoping he would go with DEI, the 1 car at least has 1 more win than the 10 and both those came with your man before his accident .

redrock, I have a sneaky feeling that sponsors are having a great deal of say in who gets what ride.

That has nothing to do with it. Quite a few DEI fans said John Andretti was this extremely talented driver held back by poor Petty Enterprises equipment and that he would show the problem with the #1 was those no-talent hacks, Steve Park and Jeff Green. It hasn't happened, as a matter of fact since Jeff went to the #43 he's been running better than John is in the #1. Hasn't it made you curious how the Michael Waltrip Racing and Chance 2 motorsports cars are always more competitive than the #1 car? It's because of the people working on those cars. Tony Gibson is not fit to be crew chief and they ruined Steve's team after he was in the accident.

guess it must be true if you say so. there is no way you can change my mind, i will agree that tony Gibson is not the crew cheif Paul Andrews is, however you have to admit DEI has more resorces than the 10 has.
