WWE is saddened to learn of the passing of William Moody, aka Paul Bearer. Moody made his WWE debut in 1991 as the manager of The Undertaker and went on to become a memorable part of WWE over the course of the next 20 years.

I know they are a few wrestling fans here so I figured I'd pass along this news.

R.I.P

Saw this earlier as well. One of the more memorable "managers" in WWE history.
Was Miss Elizabeth considered a "manager"? I don't remember. That's about the last time I really watched it. I was never really into it once I hit about high school. But, I certainly remember her.

IMO she was, or a "valet", whichever. Unfortunately, she's passed on too.

The number of people who have died from drugs/heart failure in wrestling is shocking.
It's really a shame, and shocking, what has happened to some of these guys (and girls). Watching the movie "The Wrestler" from a couple years ago is a pretty accurate account of the business, as are books like "Wrestling Babylon" and documentaries like "Wrestling With Shadows" (which I highly recommend). Recent accounts of really questionable appearances by Scott Hall and others really show the dark side of the business.

The most famous case has to be Chris Benoit. He beat up his body so much that he had severe brain damage which resulted in his death along with his wife and son. These guys need some time off. Beating your body up 300 days a year will wear anyone down.

Was very sad news about Paul Bearer...just thought to add to this topic...of the 51 folks who took part in Wrestlemania 7 in one way or other, 15 are now dead....kind of shocking...

I dont watch WWE. But it sad to hear R.I.P Paul Bearer
