Which do you enjoy viewing more? An IRL road course, or an IRL oval race?
I'd tune in to an oval before an open wheel roadcourse.

Road courses all the way. when I drive to work I don't come across any ovals, I do have to turn right and left.

i can't really pick a preference for one or the other. i like them both. the road courses are certainly more challenging and show off a driver's ability more than ovals. guess that means i lean towards the road courses. <g>

road course.

Would love to see IRL cars balls out at Dega or Daytona just once.

Wouldn't it be awesome though?

it would be amazing but geez they run 230 at Indy and they need to break for turns there, Talladega geez I can't even think how fast they'd be going, not to mention that if they crash someones probably dead

Hey, they've got more protection than the bikes do.........get em' out there.

Yeah, but that could happen even at any 1.5 mile oval if they hit a piece of debris, like I believe he did, at Indy.
Refresh my memory, did he walk away?
MoMike

last check he's still alive so I'd say yeah;)

I've seen it before but so what? 200 mph will kill you just as much as 260. What does an IRL car top out at anyway?

260 is way to unsafe. If was just as safe as 200 they wouldnt have to keep slowing the cars down. Take in note Scott Brayton 1996 running laps near 235 and Tony Renna in 2003 Turn lap time of 228.

Personally, I like both ovals and road courses for different reasons.

IMO, IRL has one of the best balanced schedules between oval, street, and road courses. The tracks they race at aren't always the best, but there's a lot of variety. I wish other series like NASCAR would race at more road courses or even a street course.

Hell, I'd love to see F1 try out an oval race. Maybe that will be the answer to the lack of passing in F1 recently.

:D
