Roanoke Flooding

Three inches of rain fell on Roanoke in under an hour earlier today.

More rain tonight, tomorrow and possibly Friday now. It's been pretty bad to be honest. Last week, it rained almost non-stop. Going to need to start construction on an ark soon.

They've been referencing that a lot on the news. It looks like it will start clearing out tomorrow - but even then, 30% chance of thunderstorms all week and the weather is supposed to be extremely hot and humid (favorable for severe weather). This has been the trend all summer so far though. And early long range forecasts suggest that's what this will be, a week of miserable heat/humidity and then a lot more rain behind that. More or less, weather is usually sunny and warm in the summer and a rainy few days is usually part of a weather system. But for us, rain has been the norm and sunny, warm weather is the result of a weather system.

Last time we had a "drying pattern", the dirt road I live on was mud the entire time.
