Robby Gordon Breaks In Baja
Robby Gordon's Baja 500 run ended in flames, literally, when a bolt on the oil-wrapped air-cleaner broke while he, with team driver Andy McMillan, were leading about seven hours into the nine-hour run Saturday.
"It was a good day and a bad day," said Gordon "A good one for seven hours of the nine... until the air-filter bolt broke at the 260-mile mark. So it was a $1.20 bolt that cost us another Baja victory. We won the Baja 500 last year and we were well on our way to another win."
Gordon plans to run the Baja 1000 in November, over the full Ensenada-to-La Paz route, and the Dakar Rally in January. The Hummer will leave for Lisbon on Dec. 15.(Journal Now)
