Robby Gordon suspended. PJ Jones to drive the #7 at Pocono.

All of the announcers are saying how Nascar screwed Robby.

They made mention that this type of ruling would not had taken place if it was Jeff Gordon not Robby Gordon.

Just about everyone agrees on NASCAR now that Robby got screwed. Everyone on this board agrees that he got screwed. Rusty and Stacey Compton however as most drivers would agree that how he handled it was wrong.

That is because Jeffy would have fallen back, took the restart from the 12th position, finished the race, and then seeked out officials to plead his case.

Sure it is not fair, however Robby was not going to win that race anyway you cut it. He knew that. He should have handled it differently. Maybe he can afford to do what he did to make a point. Who knows.

Im done watching, this just confirms everything to me that the "sport" is rigged. Well maybe not rigged, but NASCRAP bends to rules to fit whatever outcome they want.

A Little Off Topic But...

Do you think it's fair to suspend a driver from a Cup race for an incident that occured during a Busch/Truck race, or vice versa? I know NASCAR did it w/Harvick a few years ago. I'm not sure where I stand on that.

RobbyG I do not think they bent the rules. I think the rule itself is flawed. They need to make an amendment to allow the situation that took place yesterday to work itself out by allowing the vehicle that was spun not by his own doing back to the respective position before the spin or incident. They had to play by the rule book and be hardcore because if they bend the rule then what's to say competitors will not cry foul since they seem to be by the rule book on everything else.

Nah, it's happened before.

This sort of thing has cropped up ever since they scrapped the rule of racing back to the caution flag. Back then, there was never a question as to where a driver restarted. If he spun out and cars passed him, he knew it and that was that. Now, the drivers have to rely on what the tower tells them, and many times, that is not what they believe.

I know that NASCAR has all the technology available to them that would and should clear these things up, but they don't use it all the time and continue to make decisions as they arise. But one thing that the teams and especially the drivers must understand is that they, the drivers, don't make the final decision.

This isn't the first time scoring has been wrong nor will it be the last.

And, if you as a fan don't like what you see, turn it off and watch golf, or baseball or whatever. It's all part of the game and will continue to be.

Robby was screwed by NASCAR because he was acting like...well Robby G :) No room for drivers llike him anymore.

"Let Robby race" chant on the pre-race show.

Gotta love it.

While I don't agree with where Robby was placed on the track for the restart of the race, you DON'T disobey race control like that. If you want to protest the race, you do it the proper way. You don't throw a temper tantrum on the racetrack and endanger others while doing it.

Just got a note from my friend down in Aussieland and he enjoyed watching that race. Ambrose is one of his favorites, but Dirk thought like most of you guys here and that Robby should have been placed in front. Just goes to show you that there are people in this world who don't go off halfcocked when something happens to their favorite.
