I have not seen a schedule yet but I would have liked to see Winchester get their race back that Rockingham took instead of Rockingham getting a second race.

I thought you said the finale would be at Rockingham, not Daytona?

I'd like to see USA International Speedway and Milwaukee. Ain't happening. :idunno:

Honestly, ARCA already has what 4 races in Indiana and 4 in Illinois? I'm glad ARCA's bringing some races out here. Now, if we can get them to come to Langley Speedway or Old Dominion Speedway.

BTW, you had me confused when you said Winchester Speedway for a second because there's a Winchester Speedway in Virginia.

Rockingham is ARCA's new big dance. 500 kilometers, 312 miles, 50 cars. That sounds like a spectacle in American motorsport to me.:growl:

Yeah, USA International is gone. It's too bad, I went for the ARCA race and it's such A nice facility. I don't understand why they don't go to Milwaukee anymore, I guess Milwaukee thinks their little local Matt Kenseth race is better.

2 in Indiana and 3 in Illinois. But you are right they do have a lot in that area. I'd rather see them add a different track out there than repeat another track. I don't think they should repeat any with only 21 races. There are too many good tracks to be doing multiple races at one track IMO.

Come on, there is no denying that Daytona is the biggest ARCA race. It runs the same day as the NASCAR Budweiser shootout, it gets 60+ cars attempting to qualify(Rockingham only had 50 cars show up and there were a lot of field fillers).

Daytona used to be won by the same driver every year.

Rockingham had more field fillers, but it had fewer wrecks in a longer races. Even you can admit Daytona is usually a crashfest.

At least the entire field didn't get lapped at Daytona, and I know its not the tracks fault it was the Gibbs supercar. But the race did suck.

The race was too long. And as far as the field getting lapped; that's what happens when a Joe Gibbs Cup car comes to the track with "Sliced Bread" driving.

That was a pretty boring race on TV, but so was Iowa and Daytona on TV. Daytona was a damn wreckfest and the only reason the field didn't get lapped was because they run restrictor plates at Daytona.

I'm sure there was good racing at Rockingham and Iowa - we just got screwed out of it at Rockingham because SPEED was Joey Logano TV.

He would have lapped most of the good cars if it had been shorter anyway.

I didn't watch Rockingham or Iowa on tv because I was there. Iowa wasn't great but at least there were a few different cars that were in contention during the race.

Daytona was a damn wreckfest
Yeah it was, although so was Toledo.

The field didn't get lapped at any of the other non restrictor plate tracks.

Sliced Bread only ran one other race:D and that was an RP race.:p

Yeah it was, although so was Toledo.

Toledo was exciting because of the Championship scenario. ARCA learned their lesson about having the championship race at a 1/2 mile short track.

And I'd like to point out ARCA races at Toledo twice (although ARCA does own Toledo Speedway and Flat Rock Speedway). They also race twice at Smitty's Kentucky Speedway.

I think it was more the good car than the driver. He didn't do so well in the 96 cup car.

I do know that, they also race at Salem twice. I'd rather see them put one of the Toledo races at Lake Erie, one of the Salem races at Winchester, not sure about KY though. Too few races to be going to so many tracks twice.

I'd rather see them race at ORP and Winchester than Salem.

And the two months between Daytona and Salem of no racing sucks.

I can't wait until they finish it. I loved that track. They need to widen it out a little bit though, and reconfigure turn 2.

Yeah, it's a pretty cool track. I'd like to check out the Rolex sports cars there sometime.

I'm putting in for credentials for the Grand Am Rolex Sports Car Series race once I get the 2009 ARCA schedule final copy. I pretty much know when they're racing there but I'm waiting on it. I'll also be putting in for Rockingham which should be a non-issue as well. Get everything done at once.

Rockingham American 200

If you get a chance i'd recommend checking out the USAR Hooters Procup Series finale, the American 200 from Rockingham on TV(Nationally on Versus and locally over the air and on regional sports networks). That was definately the best Hooters Procup race i've been to. It is also the final race that they will have the Hooters sponsorship, hopefully they find a new sponsor so they can run the series in the future.

November 10 at 4PM on Versus.

ARCA posted the race length distances on their schedule pages. Carolina 200 and Rockingham ARCA 200.

I liked having one long ARCA race in the Carolina 500. They could've at least done 250 miles.

I like having 200 mile/lap races in ARCA, longer races like in Nationwide and Sprint Cup are so boring during the middle of the races IMO. I'm glad they shortend Iowa and Cayuga to 200 too, 250 seemed a little long for those tracks I think.

Unfortunately, at some of the big tracks, the Cope Twins (for example) cause too many cautions and the race has 30 laps left by the time they're done their wreckfests. :(

Weren't those two barbie dolls and their 6+ wrecks the most pathetic excuses ever? Doesn't it seem weird to see two girls who look like strippers climb in to the driver's seat? Didn't you think they were strippers when you first saw them? If I book my next vacation with "Sundance Vacations," do I have to choose between one or do I get both? :growl:

Yes, the Carolina 500 was a long and boring race (mainly because Sliced Bread lapped the field in a Cup car) but I'd still like a 250 mile and a 300 mile race here or there. Hopefully, ARCA will compensate and run the Trucks at Rockingham. :D

New Jersey - no complaints, got PLENTY of racing action there.

Yeah, the Cope twins were a disaster. Hopefully that Kentucky race is the last we will see of them in an ARCA race or any race.

I don't know if running the ARCA trucks at Rockingham would be a good idea.
I think the drivers are too inexperienced at big fast tracks like that and might end up having cars on their roofs. Also, most of the drivers are on a small budget and live in Ohio and Michigan, going down south wouldn't be good for their budgets.

New Jersey was good, it was a shame it got ended because of rain though. Andy Lally had that thing won IMO. It would be cool if they would get rain tires for that race like the Canadian Tire Series did at Mosport and Nationwide series did at Circuit Gilles Vilenueve this year.
