Storms are moving in on the track and apparently the winds are really picking up. A large orange Tropicana baloon was blown onto the track. When I say large, I mean large. It's ealisy 3 to 4 times bigger than the cars. The baloon looked like it was running a lap until the clean up truck pinned it against the catchfence!

:D

That was priceless. Can you imagine what that poor driver thought when he ran up on it in the turn?

Bet the orange gets a penalty for blocking. ROTFL

nah. The orange was holding it's line and didn't make any contact.

The safety truck however clearing drove the orange into the fence and is due a penalty.... :XXROFL:

I'm sure it's covered in the track safety manual under "what to do when large inflatable orange baloon rolls on to track"!

It was most certainly best in class. The giant inflatable hot dog simply was no competition.

Maybe it was searching for the giant Smirnoff Vodka balloon.

But that giant inflatable gorilla tied to the used car
lot close by was devastated to see "HIS" OJ rollin
merrily down the speedway!!!!!

Kinda gives the phrase "Go Big Orange" a whole new meaning...

OJ Simpson was penalized $1,000,000,000 for releasing that thing. Just wait, Nascar will announce that VERY soon!

Driver : "I guess next time I tell them there's debris in turn 1 they'll beleive me."

A GIANT INFLATABLE ORANGE BROKE LOOSE DURING NASCAR BUSCH SERIES POLE QUALIFYING FRIDAY AT CHICAGOLAND SPEEDWAY. TEAMS ON PIT ROAD WATCHED IT BOUNCE DOWN THE FRONTSTRETCH OF THE TRACK BEFORE FINALLY IMPALING ON A TURN FENCE. A SECOND INFLATABLE ORANGE BROKE LOOSE AND ENGULFED AN INFIELD CAMPER.

TINA GORDON, Driver, #39 Yahoo! Ford:

"It looked like something out of a bad horror movie, 'Invasion Of The Giant Oranges,' or something. I have to admit, that was a first. I've never seen anything like it.
"All we could do was stand there and watch. It was a strange sight but one that will be fun to tell people about later."

DERRIKE COPE, Driver, #49 Advil Ford:

"Guess whoever tied those things down could use some Advil right now, huh?
"It was pretty funny. I've been around a lot of race tracks a lot of years and I have to admit, it's the first time I've ever seen a giant orange rolling down a frontstretch."

REGAN SMITH, Driver, #50 Enzyte Chevrolet:

"I was looking the other way and somebody pointed over my shoulder. The last thing I remember seeing before the giant orange was a lot of dropped jaws. I'm sure mine dropped too. A giant orange running down the frontstretch during qualifying will sure get your attention."

TRAVIS GEISLER, Driver, #36 National City Chevrolet:

"The fans sure seemed to love it. They were having a great time in the grandstands.
"Wonder where that thing ended up qualifying?"
