i'm pretty sure biffile is also driving in that car.

i really enjoy watching the rolex. its nice to see cars going around in circles again. and it means the 500 is just around the corner

I like the team with Jimmie Johnson and Butch Leitzinger.

I also like the "Vermont Teddy Bear". WooHoo. :)

It's been a kind of fun race to watch. Lots going on. More than I expected though. Sorry, had to laff when Paul Newman's car had to "tie" the hood/nose on with nylon strapping. Loved the interviews woth the Labonte's and Tony and Jimmie. Missed Matt, and the others.
Sigh, Daytona is soooooooooooooooon!!!!!!! :)

The commentators mentioned several times about the large crowd on hand. Really? They sure were not in the stands. Looks like even with the NASCAR superstars on hand, ticket sales were the pits. Wonder why that is? There was a lot of good racing. I find it a bit confusing with the different classes.

Looked like all the action was going on in the Infield, even had a ferris wheel. I think most of the fans were down there.

That sort of puzzled me. Ferris wheel and other amusements at an auto race? During the race. Was it for the fans on race teams?

Our morning paper had a very brief article about the race. The highlight (and picture) was the car that caught fire. The disappointment was that NASCAR star Stewart did not win, because the track 'owes him'. Nothing else. Did not even name the winning drivers. Stupid rag!

This is a 24 hour race not a quick 3 to 4 thing.

Endurance racing (and the fans who follow it) are a whole different breed.

Quick fact: Robby Gordon is the only Nascar driver to have won the Rolex 24.

Edit: Didnt Mark Martin win also? Im not 100% sure.

You're right. They are. I bet they are real race fans and don't need kiddie rides to be entertained. But there are not enough of them to help pay the bills. That is why the organizers recruited so many NASCAR drivers, while many deserving road racers sat on the side lines.

May have worked for the TV coverage and give the commentators more to talk about, but didn't do much for ticket sales.

I thought it was a pretty entertaining race, and it was nice to see cars back on the track.I was a little annoyed that the coverage stopped at 11 pm and didn't start back up until 8 am.

At the start of the race there was a few fans up in the stands. I was thinking that it might even be a fun weekend. Camp out on the infield while a race is going for 24 hrs. I bet you could drink plenty of frosty cold beverages during that time.
