So, last month I sold my home of 8 years and moved. For those who move, you find things that you may have hidden away to keep for future reference. What I found was my NASCAR press guide and preview books. Right at the top of the box, the 1998 book. For nostalgia purposes I start flipping through and reminiscing. I curiously looked at the "Rookie of the Year" contenders. Kenny Irwin. Steve Park. Jerry Nadeau. Tim Steele.
It hit me, all of these drivers had very promising careers that were all cut short through injury/death at the track. I don't thing any rookie class ended so tragically as this one.

What happened to Tim Steele? I dint remember

I believe he had a head injury. I can't remember where it happened, but I want to say Michigan. He came back, but wasn't the same driver after that.

I remember watching Tim Steele in the ARCA series, he was pretty dominant...

I remember Tim Steele running some races for Bobby Allison back in '94. The team was unsponsored so it didn't really work out. Derrike Cope wound up securing a sponsor and ended up with that ride.
