Rose Suspended: NASCAR Craftsman Truck series driver Brian Rose has been informed by NASCAR officials that he has been indefinitely suspended from the series, ThatsRacin.com has learned. Rose has been suspended for "actions detrimental to stock car racing" and a formal announcement regarding his suspension is expected to be made Monday. Rose's suspension does not come as a result of actions during a race or on the track, but NASCAR officials are unlikely to be more specific about the cause, sources said Saturday. Rose has started in two of the series' four races in 2003. He finished 14th at Darlington, S.C., and 24th at the most recent race at Martinsville, Va. He competed in 21 races in 2002 with one top-five and five top-10 finishes while driving for Bobby Hamilton Racing. He made his series debut in 2001.(ThatsRacin.com)(4-26-2003)

Jee, I wounder what went on.

I saw that too. I would not be surpsred if they don't say what the problem is or was.
But they said it was from the series? Does that Mean NASCAR or just the trucks???

I Think they should give a little better explanation than that. Probably wouldn't care, but worded like that it raises curiosity. Hope some reporter decides to dig on there own and find out.

Name another sport where people can be thrown out and no explanation given.

What a joke.

..."big brother is watching"...

You're right. There needs to be more info. This is nonsense. He very well may deserve the situation, but whose to say? If not, then again, whose to say?...just deleted the rest...I'll just quote Larry the Cable Guy: "What the hell is this? Russia!"

lol

I'm interested to know what happened. Rose was a decent driver, never did much wrong on the track. But then again the story said the suspension was not a result of on-track activity. So, what could a driver do in his private life that would warrant a suspension from the series?

The only thing I can think or is Drugs but I don't want to jump to any conclusions right now. Doesn't NASCAR do random drug testing to drivers?

i have heard that it could be drugs also.

i could have met Rose back in october he was in Murray. but i was in lousiville so i mad my mom who lives like 20 miles from murray go and get it fro me. i will get it scaned some time.

if you dont know what Rose looks like.........you do now...............

In the public and private workplace there are provisions where an explanation of dismissal or suspension of personel are not required. This is not dictatorial, al la NASCAR. Many times employees are dismissed after review by those who make the decisions, usually behind closed doors. In many cases, the reasons of dismissal or suspension are never revealed. This is not an unusual practice.

If the suspension of Rose is the result of possible criminal behavior and no charges are filed, or if Rose violated NASCAR policy, and these were made public without permission from the charged individual, there is the potential of legal action.

Since no explanation is offered by NASCAR, and unless Rose chooses to speaks out on his own behalf, does it really matter why he was suspended?

So, anybody heard yet why he was suspended? There was supposed to be a press conference yesterday, but I haven't seen anything else regarding it.

No statement from NASCAR, but the team made a statement. Trying to figure out what it means....

Carpenter Group Racing Response to Rose's suspension, he will appeal: Howard Carpenter, owner of Carpenter Group Racing - which has fielded the #57 Dodge Ram in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series with Brian Rose behind the wheel has issued the following statement regarding the suspension by NASCAR of Brian Rose:
"NASCAR has certain procedural obligations to which every member agrees as a condition of NASCAR membership. Brian, while attempting to meet these obligations, did indeed make a procedural misstep. We believe NASCAR acted in a manner that is consistent with their policies and rules in issuing the suspension. Brian is appealing the suspension as outlined in the NCTS rulebook under Section 12-1. We believe that NASCAR will give fair consideration to Brian¹s appeal and will look objectively at the events surrounding the suspension. Brian¹s goal is to have the suspension lifted and his racing privileges reinstated as soon as NASCAR feels is prudent. Brian has shown tremendous passion for racing in the NCTS. His will and racing talents have been tested this year as he has moved into the position of racing the 'old-fashioned' way: with very little money, limited equipment, and part-time crew. Even so, his two starts this season have resulted in a 14th-place finish at Darlington Raceway and a 24th at Martinsville Speedway, both admirable finishes on any budget. As the matter is being appealed, we will refrain from issuing any comments regarding the nature of the infraction."

My take is that he did something stupid (like say a college coach going to a frat party at a rival school), but something that does not deserve permanent banning. The appeal process is just a way to determine how remorseful a person is and what penalty will help them realize there mistake.

that was really funny though.

I'm not for lifelong bans of anything unless you have a really good reason. What they did to Harvick after the truck race last year was good, but if its a big deal maybe a season but not lifelong.

Wasn't there a busch driver that got suspended for drugs last year?
